A grand jury declined to indict January 6 star witness Cassidy Hutchinson, the Washington Post reported.

The Justice Department sought to indict January 6 ‘star witness’ Cassidy Hutchinson for lying to Congress.
Earlier this year it was reported that the DOJ launched an investigation into Hutchinson.
The DOJ’s Civil Rights Division presented evidence to a federal grand jury last week. Hutchinson has not been subpoenaed yet.
Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division Harmeet Dhillon is spearheading the investigation.
Cassidy Hutchinson testified in June 2022 that Trump got into “the beast” after his speech at the Ellipse on January 6 with the belief that he would be driven to the Capitol.
According to Hutchinson, who received this information from Tony Ornato, the Assistant Director for the Secret Service, Trump grew angry after he was informed that he was being driven back to the West Wing.
According to Ornato, Trump shouted, “I’m the f*cking president! Take me up to the Capitol now!”

There is not a jury in DC that will ever convict a Democrat or acquit a Republican. The DC judiciary and jury pool are broken beyond repair.
You can’t bring any case in DC. That entire jurisdiction - both judges and juries - is hopelessly corrupt.

Too many cities are democrat compromised. In a federal case the crime is against the nation. A GJ should be rotating around the country, not comprised only from among the most highly partisan citizens alive.

A DC grand jury?? Explains it all.
I don’t blame the D.O.J. for going through the motions. But it does show the Founders’ wisdom in not letting the seat of government to be a state and why the District cannot be allowed to become one. Imagine a hostile state government ready and willing to arrest Republican officials as soon as they set foot outside of a Federal building.
I hope she had to pay the publisher instead of the other way around.
That’s my question. She so obviously lied and was also compromised by Liz Cheney.
Which is my concern. With a situation like this, where DC is the place that place that any Federal politician or FedGov worker would be prosecuted, how could any corruption ever be addressed? Having DC as it is, any and all corruption will be allowed to continue and and any honest politician will be persecuted. It’s unsustainable.
Maybe but it will be the same pool of jurors so not much chance of success.

I remember when we had to fix the Supreme Court...now I guess we’re supposed to fix the entire court system. Civil War seems easier.
Amen! I’ve always thought the same. Why do all federal cases, that inherently impact all 50 states, end up being held in DC? They should not, rotate ‘em!
