The Massachusetts bar, which catered to lesbians, lifted its Covid mask requirement once a week to attract more patrons. The decision brought criticism and national attention, but did not save the business.
Some people were upset that the bar had lifted its mask policy one day a week, saying it risked the lives of immunocompromised customers. Others mocked them.

It is nuts.
A lesbian bar maybe the ONLY place a mask really works.
In my precinct in DC there was a gay bar named Johnny’s and a lesbian bar across from it named Joanna’s.

Why did the owners appear in pictures without masks? Won’t they spread Covid?
Many years ago I went to visit an old college friend in another city. Meet me at this bar, he said. Then we’ll do the town.
So I went to the bar. I sat down and ordered a beer. Something about the place struck me as a little odd. Then it hit me. It was a butch lesbian bar. My friend was playing a little joke on me.
Everyone in the bar ignored me. But neither were they rude.
To this day, I wonder if I missed a chance to turn any of them straight. After all, I can be pretty charming when I want to be.

A friend was in the Navy. His ship docked in NYC, IIRC. They were three months at sea and were most eager to meet some women.
They entered the first bar they came too and ordered a beer. They thought it odd there were so many men and so few females. Then three more beers were placed in front of them. They told them that this beer was from David, this beer from Henry, and this beer was from ‘Brucie’. Realizing they were in a gay bar then left.
They entered the next bar which was filled with women, no men. As they had their first beer, they were congratulating themselves with so many women. Then a fight broke out. One woman was attacking another woman for hitting on her woman. Yep, it was a lesbian bar.
They returned to the ship.

Returned to the ship and resigned, thats not what they were risking their lives to defend.
