Federal prosecutors allege the 82-year-old Senate President Pro Tempore used her political power and committee influence to shield a family-run marijuana ring operating across Virginia.
Virginia state Senator Lillie Louise Lucas was indicted Thursday on five charges that include drug trafficking, money laundering, fraud and firearms charges after being accused of running a marijuana distribution enterprise, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
Lucas is among seven indicted in the sprawling racketeering scheme, a group that includes her two daughters, Lisa Lucas-Burke and Theresa Lucas-Lamb, and her grandson Ryan Eichelberger, Attorney General Todd Blanche said in a Thursday press conference.
"Louise Lucas has served in a position of public trust in the Commonwealth of Virginia for over three decades," Blanche said in a DOJ statement.

Did you see the pictures of her, how smug and uppity and downright wicked she looked and posed, gesturing with her hand like some queen and looking down with or right straight with a dominating glare?
Goodness gracious, she thinks herself a queen over a domain of paupers?

Don’t get all weed-weed up about this, to misquote the Glorious One. (Just convict and sentence the whole family.)
I will be 82 in ten years. I don’t want to run a criminal family, but I pray I am healthy enough to be able to run one, if I were so inclined, which I wouldn’t be.
It’s time for the feds to get up and take action.

Least surprising part of the story is she’s black.
If she was a Republican, the word “Republican” would appear in the headline, the lede sentence, and several more times throughout the story.

I watched the press conference this morning as the press was asking questions to the people that arrested her. The questions made it sound that the arrest was rinky-dink BS. You cannot hate the press enough!
