DHS launches nationwide ICE operation targeting illegal immigrants accused of SNAP food stamp fraud

EXCLUSIVE: The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has launched a nationwide operation targeting illegal immigrants accused of fraudulently obtaining benefits through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), resulting in multiple arrests, Fox News has learned.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) confirmed the operation to Fox News, announcing several arrests of illegal immigrants accused of fraudulently receiving SNAP benefits.

"Illegal aliens who have no right to be here in the first place are the last people who should be using SNAP benefits and other forms of welfare," Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin said in a statement.

"These programs are for Americans only," he continued. "Even non-violent illegal alien crime can still have devastating consequences when they’re defrauding the American taxpayer."

Mullin said those already apprehended and deported by federal authorities represented "just a drop in the bucket," adding that the Trump administration would continue pursuing individuals accused of fraud.

DHS identified several illegal immigrants accused of SNAP fraud, including multiple Haitian nationals.

According to federal officials, Rubstony Junior Theodore, a Haitian national living illegally in the United States, was arrested by ICE as part of the operation. Theodore's criminal history includes arrests for larceny, obstruction of officers and trespassing, DHS said.

Three other Haitian nationals living illegally in the United States — Wilbert Jean Baptiste, Louis Jean and Jhensly Charles — were also arrested, according to DHS.

Excellent news, the Government could balance or come close to balancing the federal budget if we could eliminate 50-60% of the fraud that is going on with entitlement programs.

Just two post down from here the headline reads:

Feds raid NYC adult day cares in sweeping probe into Medicaid fraud involving money-laundering, kickbacks

My goodness, all this fraud and corruption, I wonder if these states are more or less corrupt than Ukraine?

I wonder if we should be a little bit more reluctant to judge Ukraine, a society that had been the victim of Soviet Russia's oppression and induced corruption for generations?

Feds raid NYC adult day cares in sweeping probe;
Medicaid fraud involving money-laundering, kickbacks

The feds raided at least two Brooklyn adult day cares Tuesday as part of a sweeping probe into more than 100 sites suspected of Medicaid fraud involving everything from money laundering to kickbacks, officials said. The crackdown is part of a monthslong “massive effort to combat fraud and abuse” involving taxpayer dollars and some of the state’s most vulnerable people, Gov. Kathy Hochul said.

“We are targeting providers we believe who engaged in illegal activity ranging from money laundering to kickbacks to improper billing and other fraudulent activities,” Hochul said at an unrelated press conference.

The probe has been investigating more than 100 taxpayer-funded service providers “suspected of involvement in potential fraud or illegal activity,” the governor said in a later statement. It was not immediately clear how many have been found to be committing fraud. Officers from law-enforcement agencies including Homeland Security Investigations were seen by The Post outside two of the suspected fraudulent adult day cares in Brooklyn.

Photos captured the agents carrying evidence boxes from the locations — one in Sunset Park and the other in Borough Park. “Billing public programs for care, transportation or other services that were never provided is fraud, NOT a paperwork mistake,’’ HSI wrote on X.

An HSI spokeswoman confirmed in a statement to The Post that the agency was executing a “court-authorized law enforcement action,” though declined to comment further, citing an active investigation. (Excerpt) Read more at nypost.com ...

AND THIS__-16 suspects were busted across New York, with the highest concentration (7 arrests) in the Bronx, alongside cases in Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, Suffolk, Onondaga, Monroe, and Erie counties.

The suspects allegedly coordinated and deliberately caused car crashes, then filed bogus insurance and no-fault claims totaling close to $500,00.

The operation is part of an ongoing state effort to combat rampant staged collisions—New York previously recorded 1,729 staged crashes in a single year—which officials state help drive New York’s car insurance rates to some of the highest averages in the country.

Busting illegals who are stealing benefits - a two-fer!

That’s the government efficiency I voted for.

Don't deport them … until they've served 20 years in stir. Then deport them.

Pretty much everywhere.
Stealing from government is a big business.
Why rob banks when government has lots of money and does not guard them too well?
Nowadays, banks do not keep to much money on hand, government is where the money are!

D@MN. Couple more hundred in the repatriation pipeline. How many is that now vs. Biden’s 20M+ *rolls eyes*

Leave it up to the (R)N(C) to nibble around the edges vs. actually making a (noticeable) difference

Or, you should oppose aid to Russia as much as I do, unless you're not opposed to domestic American corruption.

I would like to see a rolling total of how much fraud has been uncovered and stopped. I am sure we are in the multiple billion dollar range but that is only a guess.

I find it alarming that the fraud has (1) flourished, (2) the processes to obtain the fraudulent funds seems to be well known and (3) continues with limited interruptions.

From social security going to dead people for years, to day cares and personal care homes.

I like that Trump and team are protecting my tax dollars.
