Carolyn Marvin was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after blocking the path of an Uber delivery robot and refusing to get out of the way. Marvin told Philadelphia’s ABC13 “I know they’re taking the jobs of human delivery workers and so, I have been protesting them whenever I saw them by standing in front of them and preventing them from going forward.”
Police responded to the scene and asked Marvin to move out of the robot’s way. When she refused, they placed her in cuffs and arrested her. The incident was captured on video and has now garnered considerable media attention.
The delivery robots have become a common sight on the streets of downtown Philadelphia and have sparked backlash. This is not even Marvin’s first brush with them. And earlier this year, one was kicked over in Center City. Broad concern has grown about how autonomous systems, including robotaxis, delivery robots, and AI agents, are impacting jobs, especially for lower-skill workers.

"Carolyn Marvin, Ph.D., is the Frances Yates Emeritus Professor of Communication at the University of Pennsylvania’s Annenberg School for Communication, known for her work on cultural discourses, political communication, technology and society, and ritual communication."
Bet you won’t see her blocking an illegal alien criminal for taking jobs!
ISN’T SHE SPECIAL !!!!
Robots don’t vote Democrat.
If anything robots may create more jobs. Someone’s gotta sell them as well as manufacturing delivering them, programming and maintenence. But hey, this PhD (Piled high & Deep?) would be OK if H1B workers take those jobs away from Americans
It should have a R2D2 zapper ,LOL
I’ve seen these order stocker robots at Walmart. They’re fun to play with.
In other words another liberal white woman useless egghead.

They need to retrofit these robots with lasers. Robots have 2nd Amendment rights to defend themselves too.
The charge violates her 1st Amendment Civil Right to Peaceably Assemble.
She was in a public place and wasn’t doing anything aggressive or otherwise un-peaceable. And it wasn’t her fault the builder of the robot equipped it with an inadequate system for circumnavigating obstructions.
So you would support someone peaceable standing behind a car in a parking lot as the driver is attempting to leave.
In fact she is unnecessarily preventing a properly operating company from free use of the byways as they legally pursue business.
Straw man argument.
Don't forget to pick up your consolation prize on the way out the door.
No, it’s a perfectly apt analogy but understanding analogies is a basic measure of intelligence so perhaps that’s not you game.
Im not saying you’re unintelligent, maybe you’re just unlucky at thinking
