In the same week that Elon Musk demonstrates his latest innovation -– a flying car -- Jeffrey Tucker examines Dr. Anthony Fauci’s diary entries.
These entries cover the period December 2021 to May 2023, which Tucker calls “the darkest months of the Covid era.” In the case of Musk, we see science in action, opening new and exciting possibilities. As for Fauci, we see a disturbing pattern of misusing his position to hide his role in the lab creation of COVID-19. Tucker compares the Fauci efforts to Lady Macbeth’s attempts to erase evidence of her role in murder.
Fauci first hoped COVID-19 would get lost in a bad flu season, but a Chinese businessman blew the whistle on that attempted cover-up. Then he denied the lab leak and undertook to begin a “nationwide inoculation to make it go away.” Although he knew this virus would mutate so rapidly that inoculations would be futile, he supported lockdowns while the inoculations were made ready for distribution. “His hope was to take the energy out of the pace of mutation by reducing the infection rate as low as possible.” Just as the shots were available for distribution, however, a new mutation “disabled their protection” and “mutations appeared faster than repeated boosters could catch.”
His next step was to demonize the opposition. (In this, as we know, social media biggies like Twitter and Facebook joined the perfidious effort to limit real information about the virus and its treatment.)

I will give Fauci credit for putting his AIDS research to use.
He did learn how to make diseases, if not cure them.
Fauci just followed the “second-hand smoke” playbook.
Those guys with short sleeves and pocket protectors gave us interstate highways, made muscle cars, automated food production, water and sewage treatment, heavy machinery, skyscrapers, semiconductors, and took us to the moon.
That was plenty heroic. If Clarice wants "progressive" beyond that, she can go to hell.

I assure you Clarice is advocating for progress in the true sense of progress, not as an alternate term for collectivism as it has been hijacked to mean. Much like “liberal” has been hijacked by the same types, who have to continually run from their policy failure by manipulating language.

“guys in short sleeves with pocket protectors” are one of the foundational groups of people who built the petroleum age, which raised us above animal powered farms and into the space age.
I place Elon Musk at the top of that group, along with being the genius of the age.
The word “Liberal”, isn’t even hijacked, really. It means “Free Person”, as opposed to “Slave”, and was used in the ancient, Greek Democracies.
She was amazed and afraid at the presence of a working garbage disposal.

Fauci is symbolic of the bureaucratic state which assumes the bureaucracy is the solution and not the actions or inactions of that bureaucracy.
The best example bureaucratic failure is Funeral Homes. They are licensed (allegedly) precisely because they must be properly conducted for public health. But here in GA, and nationwide, in Jan 2020 the elderly were dying of SARS-2 later to be named COVID-19. The elderly friends of the dead came to the funerals. Those funerals in Jan 2020 did more to spread COVID than anything else.
Those elderly returned from the funeral to their church and elderly facility and spread the disease fast.
If licensing and government regulation worked, those funeral homes would never have been allowed to spread the contagion to other elderly.
This is just one example. Repeatedly we see where the “good intentions” of the bureaucracy and licensing and regulation just do not work. There are 2 options:
1) Double down and what doesn’t work.
2) Teach personal responsibility in school and everywhere and not trust the bureaucracy.
The main message of the media and the bureaucracy was TRUST THE SCIENTIST.
IN GOD WE TRUST is the alternative. We emphasized IN GOD WE TRUST post WWII precisely not because we became more Godly but because we learned that we cannot trust “scientific socialsim” or Nazi scientists.
