Laura Loomer publicly pitched herself for the newly open White House press secretary role. Her joke about going blonde has added a twist to the search for Trump’s next spokesperson.

After Katie Zacharia was dismissed as White House press secretary, far-right activist Laura Loomer publicly put herself forward for the job. Her jokes about changing her appearance coincided with the launch of new prediction markets on who will be the next spokesperson for Donald Trump’s administration.
What Loomer proposed
On October 16, Laura Loomer wrote on X: “Hear me out: Press Secretary Laura Loomer” – suggesting that she be considered for the press secretary position. This was a public pitch, not an announcement of an official appointment or participation in a formal selection process.
In another post, Loomer joked about whether she would stand a chance if she dyed her hair blonde and changed her name to “Cora.” The joke alludes to the appearance of Trump’s last three press secretaries – Kayleigh McEnany, Karoline Leavitt, and Katie Zacharia.

Photo: Laura Loomer posted an edited image on X showing herself with light-colored hair and the words “I’m ready.” Source: Laura Loomer / X.
The post features a stylized image of Loomer with light-colored hair. However, the original media file on X could not be independently viewed and compared with the source image. So it has not been established whether it was edited with retouching, a filter, or generative AI.
The joke is clear even without identifying how the image was made: Loomer is poking fun at the supposed informal “dress code” of Trump’s communications team while drawing attention to her own candidacy.

Neither blond nor pretty.
Why does the most accessible President even need a press secretary?
We don’t need a press secretary in 2026.
My personal choice would be Sarah Palin. The liberal media heads would explode.
Good point. He should outsource press beiefings to a super intelligence - let the press talk to a laptop with an attitude that is sitting on the podium.
She is a jaded “grabber.”
The job requires someone a little less “needy.”
Someone with courage.
Why does the most accessible President even need a press secretary?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Because someone needs to put a positive spin on the things he says and does.
If only Robin Williams was still with us. Pay per view press conferences.
BAM! And there it is. 👏 👏 👏 🏆 🏅
I recommend (in order)
1.) Sydney Sweeney
2.) Sophie Cunningham
3.) Cameron Brink
Beth Dutton for Press Secretary
There must have been some kind of disagreement or rupture between Sarah Palin and President Trump. He was expected to include her in his present administration , but she was offered nothing at all. I recall Sarah herself expressing surprise and disappointment around December of 2024. that no one from the White House had contacted her about an appointment of some kind. Maybe it’s a matter of two strong willed people locking horns.
But a rabid dog, which is what is needed.
What we really need is for Kayleigh McEnany to return to the job.
Maybe this one for press secretary:
I was dismayed to see one of the women on CNN blabbing about the “chaos” at the White House and then saying about one possible contender for the press conference job:
“But she isn’t blonde.”
She thought he was soooooo clever. (spit)
Yeah, but what’s she going to look like in 20 years?
Ugh. Just go away
I heard she was living on the streets in Anchorage after Todd dumped her.
