A protester's hand was blown off by a police crowd-control grenade on Saturday as the nationwide demonstrations against the higher cost of living and school conditions turned violent. According to France’s biggest trade union, the CGT, more than half a million people are taking part in the protests across the country. Follow our liveblog for the latest updates.

their true nature, which is anarchistic, anti-western civilization, anti White, anti Christian and revolutionary.
When I asked them what they wanted, mostly silence.
He got a hand out instead of a hand up
France needs another Napoleon. The one who cleared the streets of Paris with “a whiff of grapeshot”. Not the one who marched an army right into a fierce Russian winter.
Come to think of it, Britain could use another Cromwell. But this one should stay out of Ireland.
Sacre bleu-up!
They have been brainwashed by their respective cults, islam and marxism.
Gonna have trouble with that old rule of thumb thing.
Nations were generally built with blood, sweat, and sacrifice. Globalists and aggressive immigrants who didn't sacrifice for the nation they now disrespect have zero legitimacy - but they'll read Le Monde and think of themselves as ‘citizens of the world’. You are not a citizen of the world. You are a parasite.
Never learned not to play with fireworks.
I understand your point, but the problem is that the economic and cultural environment is vastly different than what it was during the prior waves of immigration.
Prior immigrants knew that they had to either work, or starve. That led to the development of a tremendous work ethic and commitment to succeeding in the country. Unfortunately, the modern welfare state and bleeding heart leftists have destroyed those incentives. Prior waves of immigrants usually were not led by single mothers with children, who are incapable of supporting them and rely on us taxpayers to do so.
The second problem is that technology has greatly reduced the percentage of jobs requiring unskilled or low-skilled labor. That means that those waves of immigrants are competing with Americans in those same categories, pushing down those wages. A lot of those jobs don't pay very much precisely because companies have not been forced to increase their wages because of the availability of cheap labor inflating the labor pool.
The third problem is cultural. Prior waves of immigration were met by a shared cultural view of America as a good, positive country. Republicans and Democrats all agreed on that, and patriotism was taught from a very young age. Now, we are getting waves of immigrants met by a leftist oriented educational establishment that actually teaches anti-American values. It teaches them that they should not assimilate, and rather should maintain their cultural values, or even impose them on the rest of us. That is a recipe for national disaster.
Much dumbassery. Unfettered at that. Les Gendarmes? Pas de tout?
It was very likely the dominant hand.
There! Fixed it!
Oh, my. What is that going to do for his Internet Porn fix?
Good post.
Or is this a different French protestor who had his hand blown off by a police grenade?
It was probably his “me time” hand.
Good point.
That reminds me, on a daily basis, of entities like USA_FRANCE who appears to feel perfectly at home coming onto Free Republic, rooting for the defeat of Trump, when he should be out on the streets trying to save his/her/its country, instead of tut-tuting Americans about their moral failings with respect to a corrupt oligarchy like Ukraine and how we handle that.
Or at least logging on to some French website, if they even allow them there anymore. But the TDS is strong enough that it overpowers just about everything else in people, including the urge to save their own country.
