US Central Command on Wednesday announced that US Military forces destroyed an Iran-affiliated ship targeting US Navy ships in the Gulf of Oman on October 6.
Two US Marine Corps Apache helicopters fired missiles at the dhow.
Crew members were evacuated from the vessel prior to the destruction.
Full statement from CENTCOM:
On Oct. 6, U.S. forces destroyed an Iranian-affiliated dhow conducting surveillance and targeting U.S. Navy ships in the Gulf of Oman.
Over the past seven months, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has continued to indiscriminately target thousands of civilian mariners transiting regional waters in addition to U.S. Navy warships. Crew members were safely removed prior to destruction of the dhow. Repatriation efforts are ongoing.
WATCH:
The military strikes on the vessels come as Iran-backed Houthis fired missiles at Saudi Arabia’s King Khalid International Airport.
Twelve people died and hundreds were injured after the latest Houthi missile attack on Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport.
The airport shut down operations on Saturday as officials assessed the damage.

The Marine Corps doesn’t have Apache helicopters. The Army does. The Marines have Cobras/Vipers.
Let the muzz escape to do it all again?
Speculating here, but if the Iranians have to use a dhow to ID targets, maybe their satellite info from Russia and China has dried up? And meanwhile, Ukraine is complaining that Musk has shut down their access to Starlink, which they were using to target inside Russia. Quid pro quo?
How is a dhow?
“Crew members were evacuated from the vessel prior to the destruction.”
F-ing pussies ... they were enemy combatant forward targeting observers ... now the NEXT bunch will have no fears in filling that role ...
With whom was it affiliated?
They sank 2, we sank 1. Great deal ...
Starshield [ military ], not Starlink [ civilian ]. The terminals will disconnect at any speed over 100mph, leaving small drones on the battlefield crippled - at the direction of 47, per Musk.
“Ukraine is complaining that Musk has shut down their access to Starlink,”
Musk or a spokesman said that our government controls access to Starlink.
