One of the latest polls suggests that Republican Ken Paxton may be moving the needle on his Democrat opponent James Talarico, with the new result showing that he is narrowly running ahead of the competition.

I always add +5% to the R candidate.
Don’t want to get cocky or complacent.
I never vote early but I’ll be voting on the first day of early voting this time.
I believe Mr/Ms/? Talarico deserves most of the credit for that.
It is ridiculous that Brown might have over 2% of the vote. What is the matter with them?
I forgot to mention Quantus gained industry attention for projecting Donald Trump’s 312 electoral vote victory and the national popular vote in 2024. One of the few polling outfits that got it right.
WHAT a close race!
Paxton really isn’t the most charismatic candidate.
Fortunately Talerico is worse.
Talarico releases film and photos from security cams around his home.

Talarico wants men to play in womens sports, wants to take your guns, and calls Jesus Christ a liar for calling God “father”
Two things happening here. First is polls will continue to tighten as pollsters try and retain a shred of credibility. Second is the ads are everywhere playing authentic audio of Talarico being creepy.
Paxton may be a hard guy to love, but staring at Talerico for long enough would inevitably cause a shift. I want Paxton to be a Jesse Helms-like skunk at the Senate picnic. So, Texas - get it done!
I just hate that it seems to be so close. Californication?
Republicans coming home is Paxton’s only chance.
If Talarcio had not been able to spend the whole summer defining himself uncontested, this race would have already been over and written off by the Democrats.

Texas needs to revise their primary process. The primary itself is okay, but if there is a runoff campaign (as in Paxton v. Coryn), it lasts nearly three months with too much bloodletting. Way too long. They need to shorten it to a couple of weeks.
All by himself he is moving TX away from the old LBJ realm.
De Santis did the same thing for Florida.
Hard working people are seldom charismatic.
Charismatic people are seldom hard working.
More like an intra-party fight in the Texas GOP between the Cornyn/Bush/ex-Democrat side and the MAGA side of the GOP.
