In Trump’s Russian Oil Deal, Middle East Funds Are the Biggest Owners

The Trump administration argues that its proposed multibillion-dollar Russian oil deal would advance American foreign policy interests and lower energy prices.

But most of the ownership in the deal would go to a group of Middle Eastern investors, including some with business ties to key U.S. officials involved in the negotiations, according to people familiar with the talks.

The deal, for a worldwide portfolio of oil fields, refineries and gas stations now owned by the sanctioned Russian energy giant Lukoil, has become intertwined with the U.S. talks with Russia over ending the war in Ukraine.

The United States government, through the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation, would get a stake of about 15 percent in the deal, without investing any cash up front, the people said.

The leader of the investor group, Todd Boehly, an American billionaire who has donated $2 million to pro-Trump causes in the last two years, would get a smaller minority stake. But more than half of the equity will be cumulatively held by investors in the Middle East, according to three participants in the negotiations. The investors include entities tied to the royal family in Abu Dhabi and to two billionaire Syrian-born Qatari brothers, who are business partners with Jared Kushner, the president’s son-in-law, and Ivanka Trump, the president’s daughter.

The Boehly group would acquire Lukoil stock with a face value of about $10 billion from non-Russian owners, although these purchases would be made at a significant discount, according to participants in the negotiations.

Trump still dreams of cornering the world’s energy markets in an effort to control world trade in petroleum based and agricultural commodities in his bid to Globalize the World.

The LNG and Diesel both come into the EU via shipping to Port Terminals. While NATO focuses on destruction of Russian distillation, conversely Russia should simply concentrate on the destructoin of Port Terminals.
This strategy straves the US of energy profits from it’s vassels in EUrope.

Russia will sit back and watch Trump make the final critical error in the history of American Warfare - this is attacking Iran who will in turn attack NATO and EUrope leaving Russia free and clear of having ever attacked the EU countries while limiting Russian attacks to Ukraine only.
Russian patience is the Virture that has elevated them over the West whose short cuts in escalating attacks, breaking internal treaties and laws, all designed to hurt Russia have simply only given Ukraine a few weeks to months advantage before Russia counters with devasating consequences.

Trump is going to make the one mistake that allows EUrope and the US to be attacked or US under threat from Iran’s ballastic missiles.
Trump has smugly pretended to be a Peace Maker while arming and attacking Russia under the pretenses of Ukraine doing it.
Putin will smile and withold running his mouth when Iran attacks the Drone Factories in the EU that have been attacking Russia... when Iran attacks the Port Infrastructure in the Med and anywhere else up to 14,000km into the North Sea ports in retaliation for NATO complicity in attacking Iranian facilities in the Gulf.
(Putin might make a few conciliatory comments when Iran attacks the Frence Transgender University, foremerly an 1800s institution started as a Woman’s University;) )
