President Donald Trump’s resolve is paying off, proving the “Iran is stronger now” crowd to be completely wrong.
Oil shipments from the Persian Gulf are now approaching prewar levels, ending the energy blackmail — even as Tehran’s resources dwindle, pushing the regime ever closer to having to abandon its nuclear ambitions.
Crucially, the campaign has proved that Iran can’t sustainably stop Gulf shipments — as long as a real leader stands up to its bullying.
That’s a huge win for the entire civilized world.
Consider the progress: Crude exports from the Gulf fell from 18.3 million barrels a day in February to just 4.3 million in March; now they’re averaging 13.1 million, or about 72% of the prewar level.
On Sunday, Energy Secretary Chris Wright noted that one day last week saw 20 million barrels exit.
Part of the turnaround is greater use of alternatives to the Strait of Hormuz, such as via Saudi Arabia’s East-West pipeline, which can carry up to 7 million barrels a day.
But credit, too, US military action to undo Tehran’s efforts.
With mines cleared and confirmed Iranian attacks on shipping down to zero, oil through Strait this month hit its highest level (7.3 million barrels a day) since the war began.
Yes, Iran’s attempt to hold the world’s oil supply hostage sent prices soaring, socking consumers.
No one likes paying $4 a gallon (though that’s still below the Biden peak), but Wright argues that a lack of worldwide oil-refining capacity (partly thanks to US refinery shutdowns by Democrats like Joe Biden and Calif’s Gavin Newsom, partly due to Tehran’s damage to its neighbors’ refineries, now being repaired) is more to blame for high gas prices than Iran’s Persian Gulf threats.

Gotta hope and pray the next month opens a lot more eyes to reality.
If Obama or Biden taken care of it, then our economy would be much better. It would be a nightmare if they actually produced one be cause they could nuclear extort the entire world and let only the ones they approve of to have oil. We have enough of our own, but prices would necessarily double for Iran to recoup their billions. They would put a 50% toll on oil.
I have not seen any articles about the abuse Iran caused their neighbors. I am not referring to the news of bombing or other attacks, my area of question is about using your neighbors as a form of leverage in the war. The Persian and Arab relationships has a always been difficult, now it has turned into a deadly contest.
I think over a period of time, say 10 years there will be payback. Not in the way of war, but financial. My feelings is that the other Middle Eastern Nations will not forget and will block Iran every way they can.
War is fine if all it means is disabling your enemy by pushing a button.
I have never seen any President like him, and I started watching LBJ, of at least that was when I became aware and followed to a degree what was going on.
Dan Bongino describes Trump as a very accomplished "Level 10 Decision Maker". (As Bongino describes it in the position of President, you are mostly seeing "Level 10 Decisions" because, otherwise...those decisions would never have made it to him. In a well functioning system, those decisions are made by someone below you.)
He says that Trump lets everyone speak their piece, actually listens to what they say, and then makes the decision. And when he understand the choices, hd makes the decision, it gets moved on.
Honestly, there were two things in particular that Trump did in his first term, that just blew me away and converted me from a "Let's wait and see what he can do" voter into a "I will crawl on broken glass to vote for this man again" voter.
One was moving the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. EVERYONE told Trump it couldn't be done, the world will ignite, cats and dogs will sleep with each other, and so on. And he shrugged his shoulders and...
Just.
Did.
It.
And absolutely nothing happened. EVERY "expert" on the Middle East and International affairs, former State Department big-wigs, and other diplomats all over the world predicted doom. And nothing happened.
And what's more, Trump acted as if he knew nothing was going to happen. I never even hear him boast about it, but I am sure I just missed him when he did. Amazing. 13 Presidents, and nobody had the guts to move the embassy. And then-he-did-it.
Then, he withdrew from the Paris Climate Accord. He did it in the Rose Garden on an international scale to both Rose Garden attendees (to their faces) and broadcast around the world, he discussed Climate Change using the terms that we understand it in: "Scam". To their faces. He called it, in front of the world, and to their faces that it was a wealth distribution scheme. He said:
"...The agreement is a massive redistribution of United States wealth to other countries..."
YOU, Libloather, knew that. I knew that. Anyone with two functioning brain cells to rub together would know that. So he laid it out. And then he said to close his speech:
As President, I have one obligation, and that obligation is to the American people. The Paris Accord would undermine our economy, hamstring our workers, weaken our sovereignty, impose unacceptable legal risks, and put us at a permanent disadvantage to the other countries of the world. It is time to exit the Paris Accord — (applause) — and time to pursue a new deal that protects the environment, our companies, our citizens, and our country.
It is time to put Youngstown, Ohio, Detroit, Michigan, and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania — along with many, many other locations within our great country — before Paris, France. It is time to make America great again. (Applause.) Thank you. Thank you. Thank you very much."
And it was at this point I became a "Broken Glass Voter" for Donald Trump.
And...he has shut down illegal entry into the country and deported those already here illegally. What other President has ever done that?
And he has actually reduced the size of Government. What other President has ever done that?
And he did these momentous things. And many more. He made them happen.
He sees things that are wrong and he takes decisive and immediate action.
So, yeah. I think he is the best and most aggressive (for Good) President in my lifetime. And if I could crawl on broken glass to vote for him again, I would do it. We will not see the likes of him again. Or at least, I won't.

Definitely the greatest President in my memory - despite what the TDS trolls and whiners here think, he has a plan and he carries it out without going the instant genocide route against the Iranians that wish to be free - and if Thune and company would get on-board, we could be in so much a better place.
I am in a wonderful Bible Study group, and this morning we were discussing Hebrews 4 and how it relates to the "rest" that God offers us, and our "leader" of this group discussed "rest" and what that means. He also tied it in to Matthew 11:28-30.
And it has to do with the freedom from worry and fear that haunts us in our Earthly lives.
And many of us have worry and fear. I believe we are in an existential point (plus and minus twenty years) where the long term survival of our nation is at stake. Even with its faults, I believe the United States of America with its ideas that serve as a beacon, still, to the rest of the world, is a force for good.
So I, and many of like mind of which I believe you two are, believe the preservation of this country is worth fighting for. So I am passionate about it, and for many years, I hav worried and have fear about its long term survival.
And many on this forum do too. We see it every day. The fear and worry, and the way it expresses itself in the dialogue and discourse here.
Some lash out at Trump and his administration in their fear and worry, and they post negative things day after day about this administration as if they want it to fail and collapse, and they want to pull the ruins down around them, as if they would find comfort in that. (Assuming they are simply not here from the "other" side, with that specific goal of causing ruin)
Some people become sullen and apathetic. The "I'm not going to vote" people, or the "Nothing is happening, this is all worthless. Both parties are the same" crowd.
I have been fighting the urge to simply respond to these people in the thread wherever I see this aggressive negativity or the doom and gloom with the digital equivalent a slap to the face and an admonition to "Snap out of it and get ahold of yourself!"
But that doesn't do anything except fan the flames of Fear and Worry even higher, and the discourse on my part becomes less civil to the point that instead of just fear and worry, it is a trifecta now, of Fear, Worry, and Anger.
And that isn't good.
So, I was in a thread, trying hard to control my urge to tell this person who started the thread (and those who piled in with negativity behind him) to grow a pair of testicles and fight, and not quite knowing what I can post that isn't simply going to throw gasoline on the fire of Fear and Worry, and turn into a conflagration of Fear, Worry, and Anger.
And KitJ posted this as I pondered and struggle what to write. Before I had decided and refreshed the page, I saw this post from KitJ:
And this post from KitJ simply turned on the light and exposed the dark room for me. I wasn't fearful anymore. I wasn't afraid anymore.
Have Faith. God is in control.
Sure. That seems so fundamental and obvious. And it had been sitting in front of me the whole time during this election. I didn't have Fear and Worry anymore, and as a result-I didn't need to have anger either.
And it made me realize that I believe. I do believe. In my journey to Christ, it was one of the first times I had empirical proof to myself that in my heart, that I do believe in Christ.
Because I realized for the first time that while I still feel passionately about the outcome of this election, that I don't possess the Fear and Worry that in the past, I had experienced.
Have Faith. God is in control.
God doesn't make mistakes. If we lose both the House and Senate...that will be God's plan...and God doesn't make mistakes. If that worst case scenario happens, I will do what I have done in every lost election in the past-dust myself off, and get on with Life.
But this time, with the "rest" that is described in Hebrews 4, I will get on with life without the Fear and Worry. Because I do believe that God is in control.
I had made that transition and had not even realized it.

Hebrews Ch 4 is a short read but a long study.
I like verse 3: "...although the works were finished from the foundation of the world."
And verse 16: "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."
Wait! I don't want anyone thinking I'm some kind of preacher, or worse, a 'holier-than-thou' poster. I remain a sinner saved by His grace and sacrifice. Sometimes the Holy Spirit kicks me in the butt and inspires me to recall verses and share. Which I'm happy to do.
