Melania stunned in a white bow blouse and sleek black tuxedo-inspired pants as she and President Trump hosted Thursday night’s lavish White House state dinner for Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The stylish peony-motif brocade Dolce & Gabbana pants, bow-adorned Saint Laurent cotton poplin blouse, black silk Dolce & Gabbana cummerbund and sky-high black Christian Louboutin heels she wore to welcome Xi and his wife, Peng Liyuan — took the internet by storm.
The first lady’s simple outfit had a more complex message — and it wasn’t that she’s the one who wears pants in the White House.
In choosing pants with a subtle peony pattern, Melania Trump was paying tribute to the “King of Flowers,” as the peony is known in Chinese culture. It symbolizes wealth, nobility, prosperity and romantic beauty.
The Chinese consider the peony the embodiment of feminine charm and perfection.

Years ago, my wife discovered that, if she wore one of my old flannel shirts, she never seemed to spill so much as a crumb on herself - it’s only the good stuff that gets messed up.
Well ... of the two outfits I like Melania’s better altho not really one of her best. Madame Ping’s dress reminds me of one of my mom’s house coats.

His jacket should be buttoned. He's also a bit slouched over. Likely from trying to lean in a bit. He's got the pocket square though. Vance missed that, as did Trump. If wearing a jacket, it isn't hard to throw in a pocket square.
Vance's jacket sleeves seem a bit short, while Rubio's are a bit long.
All in all, pretty well done though.
