For those of you in Rio Linda, almost everyone in New York City calls people from Puerto Rico, Cuba, etc. "Spanish." I don't know why. For example, Spanish Harlem was a Puerto Rican neighborhood, not Spanish. But this one is Spain Spain.

Today, a lot of "Spanish" neighborhoods might be more Aztec or Mayan than Spanish. Not European at all.

I remember in the 90s there being at least three Spanish (from Spain) restaurants on West 14th street. Francisco’s Centro Basque (sp?) was one we’d frequent occansionally.
