When TMZ DC asked Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) about Lindsay Clancy's murder case this week, she was blunt. In fact, I think she said exactly what a lot of people have been thinking but are generally too polite to say out loud.(snip)
When TMZ DC’s Jacob Wasserman mentioned Reddington’s pardon request to Mace, she vented her uninhibited opinion. "Which is how retarded it is," she said. "He knows, as an attorney in the state of Massachusetts, you can't ask for a federal pardon for a state case. I mean, it doesn't take a lawyer — I’m not even a lawyer, I didn't go to law school — it doesn't take a lawyer to figure that out. It was just a publicity stunt. I think it's nasty; it's ugly."
Mace had more to say on the subject. "Her children are dead. She should be dead, too," she averred. "She should get the death penalty. It should be public. It should be a public execution."
I don't think Wasserman could wrap his head around what she was saying, and he pushed to spell out exactly what she meant: "So when you say public execution, spell that out for me."
If he expected her to walk it back, he was very wrong.
Mace laid it out. "It could be by a firearm, it could be electric chair — I don't really care. Not an injection," she said, adding that it should stand as "a warning to women everywhere. You don't kill your kids." When Wasserman suggested that might be "a little out of bounds," Mace rejected his premise outright and doubled down. "Absolutely not," she said. "Child rapists, too — add them to the list of public executions. If people can get away with murdering children, what else can they do?"

Anyone happy to murder babies up to birth has no scruples about pardoning a ‘mother’ who did hers postpartum. MA is a failed state.

Everyone knows that a federal pardon is useless in a state crime. Furthermore, since no verdict was reached, she was not convicted, so how can she receive a pardon?
No, this is about forcing Trump to act, then exploiting it to form a "pink wave" in the upcoming election. I know Trump's not running, the wave is to target anyone he endorsed. If they can throw the election and get control of the Senate and the House, then Trump is a powerless lame duck for the rest of his term.

It’s not the business of a US representative to weigh in on a murder trial.
The fact is the trial and its result has rightly or wrongly shown a decided split in the nation. One side is vilifying and attempting criminalize the juror who voted to find Clancy guilty and the other is holding him up as a hero.
It reminds me a bit of how the nation viewed John Brown in the 1850s. Half the nation saw him as a hero and half saw him as a monster.
Preferably in the public square.

There was never any question as to whether she did it or not...she did. But the history of mental illlness and the over-prescribing of mind drugs by many doctors does create the entrance of reasonable doubt of whether she was even aware of what she was doing at the time of the action.
They found her in her back yard attempting suicide and she has been committed to a mental facility after the trial. Definately reasonable doubt. But, she’s in the same as prison in the institution. Hope she stays there for her own good and that of her family.
I’m just surprised this made it to court with all the background of mental instability and drug use current at the time of the incident. Defence was stupid but the outcome was the same. She’s committed and hopefully for a while, maybe permanent.

Since Mace voted with the Democrats to end the Iran conflict while those evil fanatics are still in power bombing our Middle East bases and slaying their citizens she demonstrates lack of practical sense and should not be in any position of influence.
The lawyer’s requesting a federal pardon in this case is merely boosting his billable hours.
A short drop and a sudden stop, given the infanticide in question, would put the appropriate punctuation at the end of the sentence.

Punishments are meant in part to send a message those considering the given crime, but a public execution is too barbaric for us. Other cultures, maybe not.
