ALLENTOWN, Pa. — At a demonstration against the GOP-controlled Congress, a decidedly anti-Trump crowd has a Democrat's name on its mind: Sen. John Fetterman.
"I voted for him. I donated money to his campaign," said Vick Lindquist. "I feel like I've been stabbed in the back as a Pennsylvanian. It's very — I can't even put it into words. I'm so disappointed in him."
In his 2022 campaign against Mehmet Oz, Fetterman was hailed as a progressive willing to buck convention, campaigning in what would become his Senate uniform of a hoodie and basketball shorts. While in office, he's grown increasingly isolated from his party, in part over his votes for several of President Trump's cabinet nominees, his resolute defense of Israel and his frequent appearances on Fox News, where he bemoans the far-left wing of his party.
His seat comes up for re-election in 2028 — a date some of his constituents say can't come fast enough.
"He doesn't seem to want to do the job, at least based on everything that his ex-aides are telling us," said Rod Dougherty of the Lehigh Valley. "He should pack up his bags and go."
Dougherty was nodding to a recent Wall Street Journal article that reported Fetterman has skipped hearings, missed meetings with constituents and shown a general disinterest in the day-to-day responsibilities of being a senator.
NPR has not independently verified the reporting and his office did not respond to a request for comment. In an interview with CNN, Fetterman dismissed the Journal's reporting as "lies, half-truths, innuendos, smears and anonymous."
Long-simmering frustrations
Discontent among his base has been brewing for some time.

I see the democrat propaganda wing in the form of NPR is alive and well without government assistance.

NPR — Nattering Partisan Radio — sucks.
When a Republican votes Democrat, the NPR story is that the Republican is a fierce independent and you can be damn sure that the voters who they interview are “Republicans” (meaning liberals calling themselves Republicans) who are ecstatic that the officeholder is not a slave to the “extreme conservative” line held by the national party. But when a Democrat does it . . . . .
By the way, the Democrats they are interviewing are 100% suburban Philly liberal women (and maybe some men). Central PA Democrats are some of the most conservative, old-school Democrat relics around. You can still find some gun-loving, anti-abortion Dems there.
Oh look… Democrat state media is writing a hit piece on a senator that won’t toe the DSA line.

Obviously, this man thinks that what will resolve his pain is about ten million more illegals and swapping the sex of all newborns.

The 100 employees at NPR write a hit piece on Fetterman and PA voters.
I’m still shocked NPR only has 100 employees.
They write and think like they are 10k employees.

And... they ended up with a much better looking “clear minded middle age white male with a mind of his own”, too. The old Fetterman looked absolutely Neanderthalic. I like this new and improved version!
He still votes the “right” way nearly all the time. Is this just a way to get Republicans to vote for him?
