Chutz-POW!
A host of rabbis recently participated in a five-day “summer camp” featuring extensive firearms training as Jewish leaders from across the US prepared for the High Holidays.
The pilot program, run by Los Angeles-based Jewish security organization Magen Am USA, brought together 20 Chabad Hasidic rabbis from 12 states for an intensive crash course designed to help them respond to potential threats at their synagogues and in their communities.
The program, which also included emergency medicine and security training, took place in August in Los Angeles. It came as Jewish communities across California and the country grapple with heightened security concerns and rising fears about attacks on Jewish institutions.

The organization has already begun expanding its broader security operations, including a new San Diego team.
But the biggest question for some rabbis is what role, if any, firearms should play in their religious responsibilities.
For the Los Angeles rabbi, completing the program did not immediately translate into a decision to carry a gun.
He said he is still considering whether firearm ownership is right for him and plans to undergo additional training before making that decision.
“I’m still in the journey with it,” he said. “My biggest takeaway is now I know how to use a firearm. God forbid, if it’s a case of an emergency, as a rabbi, I’m prepared.”

Just a reminder - the DNC's Hamas wing will show up with knives.
Jehu would be pleased.
Also Abner.

Great idea.
You can either hire security or BE security. I guess the choice is which one costs more & is most effective.
I am glad people are starting to prepare. The Moslems, Communists and Democrats are already prepared.

"... Inside the ‘summer camp’ training rabbits how to use firearms..."
It’s worth pointing out that these are Chabad Rabbis.
I wonder what’s going on for Reformed and other left-leaning congregations? Most of them were brought up hating guns. Is that attitude changing?
No, I came in here to post the same thing! 😅😂🤣
Heh, for me, that kind of “mind-trick” that my brain plays on me is a constant source of amusement, as I will be driving down the road with my wife and some sign catches my attention and my brain immediately interprets it in a saucy, if not filthy way...only for a fraction of a second, but in that fraction of a second, I snort or laugh.
My wife looks at me, puzzled and says “What?” and when I tell her, I often get an exasperated eye-roll that clearly says “I am married to an adolescent boy with a dirty mind...”

Yes, God forbid that the rabbis ever have to use the weapons that they will now know how to use. However, I suspect that it is God that is behind them getting the training that they will quite possibly or probably some day need in order to defend themselves and others in their synagogue.
Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong.

I’ve always been confused as to why any jews would be anti-gun. After the pogroms and holocaust. I believe if I was jewish , I would have a gun and learn how to use it well. Life is a precious gift from g*d and should be protected.

It’s a mystery... why ‘anyone’ would prefer to be defenseless in this era of ongoing violence. I have conceal-carried since I was in my early 20s. It’s amazing how your confidence that you display manages to ‘ward off’ any would-be trouble-makers. Your attitude shows and you don’t come off as an easy mark or helpless victim.
I recall once when I was walking from a sports bar where my husband and I had met some friends after work. A carload of very loud and aggressive men pulled up and paced me, as I walked. It looked like one of them was going to get out of the car and make some trouble for me. All I had to do was reach into my bag for my gun (it was small and dainty, but still nice and loaded). They suddenly decided to move the hell on.... quickly.
You just gotta love it. The Borscht Belt becomes Kamp Kalashnikov.
Note that they’re training shooting from the draw. This is major league stuff because most civilian gun ranges get apoplectic if you want to shoot from the draw, but that’s as indispensable a skill as the steady hold factors.
How much you wanna bet every gun they’re using is made by IWI!!?!!
Mazel tov, dudes! And remember what the Dalai Lama says, “Two to the chest, face gets the rest!”
