SCAM: Abortionists lethally inject babies, then send moms to hospitals for 'stillbirths'
live action news ^ | September 9, 2026 | Carole Novielli

Rise Collective, a late-term abortion business in Boulder, Colorado, which reorganized under a new banner after the retirement of well-known, late-term abortionist Warren Hern, is following in Hern's footsteps. The business offers "injection only" abortions (feticide to kill the baby) through 34 weeks of pregnancy, which some experts claim can place women at risk. The woman is then advised to see her physician to deliver the dead baby, which some speculate may amount to insurance fraud.

But this idea isn't new. In a 2024 New Yorker interview, Hern himself stated that he had lethally injected a preborn child with a health condition who was past 35 weeks gestation, and then sent the mother to the hospital to deliver her stillborn baby. Hern asserted (emphasis added), "I don’t call that an abortion. It was an interruption of a pregnancy that was hopelessly complicated."

The truth, however, is that the intentional and direct killing of a preborn child — regardless of the reason — is an induced abortion. Never miss the latest news in the fight for life.

Key Takeaways:

* Rise Collective, comprised largely of former employees of late-term abortionist Warren Hern in Boulder, Colorado, are following in Hern's footsteps, administering lethal feticide injections to preborn children and then sending their mothers home to deliver them as "stillbirths" in hospitals.

* Warren Hern once stated in an interview that he doesn't view this as "an abortion," even though it clearly is intentionally ending the life of a preborn child and then leaving the stillbirth delivery portion of the procedure for someone else to handle.

* This is not new, and Hern is not the only one who has participated in these abortions other than Rise Collective. Indiana abortionist Caitlin Bernard inquired in 2018 about finding someone to lethally inject a patient's 22-week baby and then send that patient back to Indiana for stillbirth delivery. Other abortion businesses have also made mention of this abortion scheme.

* Medical malpractice attorney Mike Seibel predicts that "red states could see an increase of stillbirths that the media will then blame on abortion bans." He also noted that this could be considered insurance fraud.

* OBGYN Dr. Ingrid Skop noted similar concerns that the abortion industry is doing this so that women can then have their private insurance or Medicaid pay for an abortion while presenting it as a natural stillbirth.

The Background:

In the third trimester of pregnancy, the method most often used is induction abortion. This typically involves injecting the living preborn baby with a feticide (such as digoxin or potassium chloride/KCL) to cause fatal cardiac arrest so that the preborn child dies. Then, labor is induced to deliver the stillborn baby.

A Reddit user described her experience with feticide:

It was awful. They bring a giant needle and inject it into the my belly to find baby’s heart using the ultrasound... I swear it is the most gut wrenching, heartbreaking and unbearable experience that I’ll never forget... It was nothing compare to the immense emotional pain.

Then it’s done and there a sense of relief… but the baby keeps moving, slower for a bit then stops after about 12 hours, and a reminder of the brutal reality.

Another Reddit user cited "horror stories" about the KCL injection:

Last night I was reading about the injection just to be prepared. Found out it has to be directly injected into baby’s heart with ultrasound guidance and some people shared their horror stories of... the baby jumping and fighting the needle and the baby’s heart still beating the next day and requiring another injection.

I was telling this out loud to my mom and my baby girl start [sic] moving and kicking so hard for a really long time period. I have never felt her move for so long consecutively.

KCL horror stories off Reddit

Live Action News previously documented how abortion industry insiders, insurance companies, universities, and abortion-friendly groups have admitted that abortions committed later in gestation (at a point at which babies have a chance to survive when born prematurely), are so dangerous that they should never be committed in an outpatient facility — and therefore fall outside the standard of care.

Dr. Greg Marchand, a board-certified OB-GYN and gynecologic surgeon who founded the Marchand Institute for Minimally Invasive Surgery in Mesa, Arizona, confirms this, telling media that induction abortion is “something that would need to be done in the hospital."

Sometimes these gruesome procedures are funded by taxpayer dollars.

The Details:

Pro-life researcher and activist Sadie Olson tipped off Live Action News about the injection only abortions offered by Rise Collective, which shares limited details on its website under the heading "Abortion Care Up to 34 Weeks."

The 'injection only' dropdown box states in part:

You will then be brought to our exam room for an abdominal injection to safely and gently end the pregnancy

After your visit:

You will return home to your physician for the labor & delivery

OR we will help you coordinate the labor & delivery at a partnering hospital in Colorado

Rise Collective injection only abortion

Rise Collective Boulder opened in October of 2025 and was founded by facility staff previously employed by abortionist Warren Hern, who announced his retirement last year.

Rise claims to be a "team of more than 13 owners, clinicians, administrators, and staff" where "providers are trained for the future." 'Injection only' assembly line abortion scheme

Administering a lethal injection of feticide without actually doing the labor induction to complete the abortion allows the abortion business to function like an assembly line by sending the woman to another physician for labor & delivery (L&D). The scheme also reduces risk to the abortion facility because later abortions are typically a multi-day process, and much can go wrong during this time.

This Reddit thread discusses "injection only" abortions occurring in multiple locations, including 'termination for medical reasons' (TFMR) in offices of maternal fetal medicine (MFM) providers.

Reddit User #1 stated:

I currently have an appointment scheduled in Boulder...for a TFMR at 27 + 4... talked about the option of getting the injection and then going home to do L&D at our hospital, but we would need my OB's support/confirmation that they can do this... our genetic counselor referred us to.

Reddit User #2 said:

If you are favoring doing injection-only, Boulder is more expensive ($10K last I heard) compared to other safe options such as DuPont ($2.5K last I heard)... if money were an issue, I could also try to help you get to an MFM's office for the injection (often <$1K).

Reddit User #3 asked:

Can I PM you? I am looking to get an injection only and dupoint [sic] quoted me 7200. How would I go about getting into a MFM quickly.

Reddit user #4 asked:

Are any of them (DuPont or boulder) good for a very late 33 week termination ? Unfortunately we learnt about the complications quite late . Boulder lady said it will be injection at their place and then delivery at a Denver hospital . What are the risks?

On a separate Reddit thread, one user wrote:

hi. some places you can get a kcl injection and come home and go to the er and it will be treated as a stillbirth. i got this done at 22 weeks in albany pa. then my doctors met me in the er the next day.

TerminationsRemembered.com, which recommends TFMR hospitals and includes "TFMR stories," shared this Dupont abortion facility review:

Due to the late stage of my pregnancy (diagnosis was received at 36 weeks), I was unable to access care for termination in Massachusetts. My hospital directed me to this Clinic. We flew there and back in the same day...The procedure was a straightforward injection and I was not in any pain for the return trip... And they were willing to be in touch with the hospital when we returned home and I was admitted for induction. (Note: for late-stage terminations, they generally recommend patients travel home to deliver.)

TheTFMRDoula.com review describes getting the "injection" and returning to the hospital for delivery.

Injection-only abortions have been committed for years

This is not the first time "injection-only" abortions have been brought to the attention of Live Action News.

An inspection of public records requests captured Indiana University abortionist Caitlin Bernard looking for someone to inject babies in another location or state with potassium chloride (KCL) and have the woman returned to her for the induction abortion in 2018:

July of 2018

I have a patient in Indiana who is 22+2wks (above my GA limit of 21+6wks)... who strongly desires induction of labor [IOL] termination. Is there anyone who would be willing to do KCl or Digoxin injection for her then be returned to us for IOL? MFM here is willing to take her back & manage induction. Any leads would be helpful -- also for future similar referrals given our GA limit.

Thank you very much, Caitlin Bernard Indiana University

She later responds, "We have found something close to home for her... Thank you for all the great responses, I and the patients in restrictive states are eternally grateful to you all!!"

Caitlin Bernard IPRA looking for abortion injections KCL Digoxin in one state and induction in another

A separate IPRA request obtained by Live Action News discussed how the late-term abortion facility "Southwestern" (Southwestern Women's Options), then owned by Dr. Curtis Boyd, priced a woman from Texas for a "Dig" (short for digoxin) injection.

The nurse then said:

We should talk about pricing for this service and the possible liability involved in providing digoxin and then sending them away to deliver elsewhere, probably the wonderful land of Texas.

Injection only Dig abortions UNM email

The Consequences:

Hiding information about complications

"This is a chilling proposal," Texas OBGYN Dr. Ingrid Skop told Live Action News. She added:

"For years, abortionists have been providing unsupervised first-trimester mifepristone/misoprostol abortions and encouraging women to hide this information when they seek medical help for complications.

Now, apparently, they have decided this is a good strategy for abortions throughout all trimesters of pregnancy.

Violates the standard of care

"Late term abortion has gone to grotesque levels," claimed medical malpractice attorney Michael Seibel, who operates the website abortioninjury.com. "There is always a risk of extramural delivery. It could take place in a car or airplane."

Seibel added:

"They’re just experimenting on patients left and right; it’s so grotesque. Is this allowed by the joint commission for hospitals? It clearly violates the standard of care because they are not being monitored.”

Dr. Skop reiterated those concerns, telling Live Action News (emphases added):

"We already know that a late abortion is more dangerous than an early abortion but providing a feticidal injection to kill the baby without a plan for delivery will increase a mother’s risk of infection and disseminated intravascular coagulation if delivery is delayed.

Likely, the abortion industry is providing this partial abortion service to decrease costs for a woman, who can then return to her home (possibly in a pro-life state), report decreased fetal movement and then be diagnosed with a “stillbirth” by a doctor who may remain unaware of the reason for the baby’s death.

The labor induction and delivery charges would then be borne by the woman’s private insurance or Medicaid (in violation of the Hyde Amendment).

Seibel suggested attorneys general in pro-life states should immediately "investigate hospitals or doctors working in collusion" with abortion facilities to finish these lethal injection induction abortions and then log them as stillbirths to avoid criminal penalties.

He warned that while "women may not be prosecuted for the abortion, they can be prosecuted for Medicaid fraud” if the delivery is billed to the taxpayer.

Seibel predicted that "Red states could see an increase of stillbirths that the media will then blame on abortion bans." Seibel also questioned:

Is this a conspiracy to violate laws and the Hyde Amendment and Red State abortion bans? And who’s paying for it?

They want to separate the killing from the procedure, so they have plausible deniability.

In the end, Seibel said he stands ready to "sue doctors and hospitals when these women have a pulmonary embolism because they’re not being monitored. Or they suffer or die from sepsis or suffer from emotional distress after delivering in their cars."

As much as I detest Reddit notice she called it "my baby" in her story.

*sigh* one day scientists will figure out what causes pregnancy and ways to avoid it.

“How could anybody do such a thing?”

I’ve wondered this for decades now.

Satan needs innocent lives sacrificed to him. He thinks that if enough innocents are murdered he will equal the sacrifice of Jesus.

Also infant organs are used in satanic worship. I wonder how many funeral homes remove the organs of the young and old alike and sell them for ritualistic purposes.

I know what you mean.

It’s shocking that these paragons of virtue and compassion would do something like this. What is society coming for when we can’t trust our baby killers and organ harvesters? /s

This form of abortion (infanticide) is not as profitable as live-birthing the child and harvesting its organs for sale on the open market. Remember Lamborghini lady abortion doctor?

These women are not the victims — They have murdered their unborn children.

If the unborn baby is injected with a substance in order to stop its heart from beating, thus killing it, how can that not be murder?
