Trump: Oil prices ‘will drop precipitously’ after Iran war win
The Hill ^ | 09/08/2028 | Ryan Mancini

President Trump on Monday said oil prices “will drop precipitously” after the Iran war is won, as Iran seeks to maintain its control of the Strait of Hormuz with a “restricted zone.”

“Oil prices will drop precipitously, like everything else is dropping (but more!), when we WIN the war with Iran,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Three Dollars a gallon, but ultimately, below Two Dollars a gallon. It will all happen quickly, and Iran will never have a Nuclear Weapon.”

The announcement came as Labor Day saw record-high gas prices at an average of $4.15 per gallon in the U.S., with the previous record being set in 2012 at $3.82, according to AAA. Diesel hit its highest price ever on Friday at an average of $5.85 a gallon.

Tehran’s closure of the Strait of Hormuz has cut off one-fifth of the world’s oil supply from exiting the Middle East, causing energy prices to skyrocket for more than six months since the conflict began.

What constitutes a "win"?

No more uranium?

Regime change?

Opening the Strait?

This war was a mistake, if you were going to do it there needed to be regime change. Iran is just running out the clock knowing the war will grow more and more unpopular in the USA. The political reality is he should’ve waited until after the November elections because, as it stands, the Republicans are going to be wiped out and the final 2 years will be extremely difficult for President Trump with the Democrats in control of one or both houses.

He needs to end this stupid shit NOW. Enough. Just stop. And focus on getting Arab oil flowing and Venezuelan oil pumping. Or the GOP will be completely destroyed in November.

And that will be... when?
How much more pussy-footing around and fake agreements will it take to get us there?
1 year? 2?

It’s almost like President Trump is working for big oil since their income has skyrocketed by $26+ billion since that war began. The cost of this war reported September 4, 2026 on News Max was $100 billion. I’m sure we all understand that sacrifices must be made and I approve of President Trump’s motivation and action against Iran but the outrageous price of fuel is leaving this country in extreme and bitter hardship.

Dear Mr. President;

Please define “win” in the context of our war with Iran. What are the goals of this war? How will we know when we have achieved those goals? In short, what must the ruling authorities in Iran do or cease doing, that will lead to a cessation of war and a restoration normal international relations between these USA and Iran?

Thank you

The objectives at the onset were

U-235 removed

End Iran’s ability to project power outside its own borders

Anything less is a clear loss

So when is the war won?

Good question. I assume its when their nuclear ambitions are destroyed, which we were told happened last year, then again this year when they were 2 weeks away all of a sudden after having their capabilities destroyed the year before. Their Navy is at the bottom of the sea, but they continue to terrorize the Strait. Their military is decimated, but their command structure is intact and they continue to launch missiles and drones.

I like Trump. Voted for him 3 times. He's done a lot of good in a short period, however, this is not one of them. He WAY underestimated the situation, and I'd be willing to bet he over relied on Israeli intel.

Oil prices “will drop precipitously” after the Iran war is won.

But it won’t end price gouging at the pump it’s part of the system for years.

4 gas stations on the same block different prices WTH.

Oil and gas prices are being driven by speculation , hedging strategies and profiteering than they are by supply - demand fundamentals

Right now prices per barrel are higher now at a time when oil supplies are loosening up to near pre war norms than they were when the Persian Gulf was shut down

By the end of September, we should start seeing a correction in prices as speculative unwinding of positions starts to occur

If the smart guys on the Trump team do their jobs correctly, we should see some serious drops in oil prices in October

Democrat politicians are literally an existential threat to the worlds oil producing countries and oil companies so they would have to be insane try to keep oil prices high before the November election

The Democrats were literally in the process of killing the Saudi and UAE oil industry and de facto banning oil sales by the 2035 time frame

President Trump did not just save America, he saved the world economy when he was elected

We have already won the war in Iran

The issue now is properly securing that victory over Iran for the long term
