President Trump dominates the political landscape, holding off lame-duck status for now.
But some signs are emerging that prominent members of his party are readying 2028 presidential bids. Those moves are only likely to accelerate after November’s midterms.
A post-Trump landscape will be tricky to navigate. The president has transformed his party during his decade in political life, shifting its policy positions on topics from immigration to trade, and transforming the tenor in which it conducts debate.

Any of the top four would be fine by me.
I like Cruz, but he is a poor campaigner.
Vance, Rubio and DeSantis. Cruz is a very distant 4th.
Donald Trump Jr. was born before Ivana Trump became a US citizen.
Yes. And 5 and 6 are absolute dealbreakers. No way.
...lame duck, defined.....
“A lame duck president is an outgoing president nearing the end of their term, especially after a successor has been elected, whose impending departure weakens their ability to push legislation or gain congressional support.”
Indeed, Mr. Trump could hardly be considered as a lame duck president...!!! he still has a lot of items on his agenda that he wants to see accomplished during the remainder of his term!!

So does that make him an anchor baby?
What’s your point?
Vice President Vance
Secretary of State Marco Rubio
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis
Probably the top 3. And if DeSantis didn’t screw up last election, he may have been #1.
I used to like him, but he’s a talk a good game (most of the time) and get nothing done type of guy.
Honestly I can’t believe I like Rubio as much as I do. As a senator I hated him, but it appears he has learned a lot and Trump has taught him well.
Five through seven, absurd.
Don’t Reagan “screw up” the 1976 primay? Don’t count DeSantis. We are lucky to have a deep bench for ‘28.
“What’s your point?”
There are some people that believe that to be a natural born citizen, both parents need to have been citizens at the time of birth.
Tucker Carlson, Brian Kemp? That tells you what the Crap Hill is nothing but a piece of crap.
Then that eliminates Rubio as neither of his parents were US citizens when he was born.
Some people are ignorant.
Dont discount DeSantis.
No, he is recognized as a citizen based upon the fact that his father is an American citizen. That would be true, even if birthright citizenship didn’t exist at the time or is later overturned.
