President Trump dominates the political landscape, holding off lame-duck status for now.
But some signs are emerging that prominent members of his party are readying 2028 presidential bids. Those moves are only likely to accelerate after November’s midterms.
A post-Trump landscape will be tricky to navigate. The president has transformed his party during his decade in political life, shifting its policy positions on topics from immigration to trade, and transforming the tenor in which it conducts debate.

The can’t do the same for the Democrats, who realluy have no one , even though many will probably run.
It’s going to be a Vance/ Rubio ticket. Trump said they would be the dream team. Coach says that’s the game plan so that’s what it will be. Both men are good enough to dream about another 17 years of republican leadership after Trump.
**(Cruz)I used to like him, but he’s a talk a good game most of the time and get nothing done type of guy.**
DeSantis gets things done. Orators talk good. It works for the left(Kenyan). Cruz would be the ideal Majority Leader should Thune get his comeuppance. Wouldn’t be able to campaign as he’d be too busy running the senate.
**Didn’t Reagan “screw up” the 1976 primary? Don’t count DeSantis. We are lucky to have a deep bench for ‘28.**
Successful presidents have experienced losing. Think Nixon, Reagan, BJ-even Trump. Learning experience.
**It’s going to be a Vance/ Rubio ticket.**
Come on. Who’s gonna accept the indignity of being #2?
No, to number three and number six for sure.
Is Cruz a natural born citizen?
TUCKER CARLSON??? Are you kidding me!?!??!?!?
5,6 and 10 will never happen.
3 highly unlikely
As of today I like Rubio. That could change in the next few years to Vance.
Senators are one of a hundred in the world’s biggest yakkety-yak organization. They make poor presidents: Biden, Obama.
This list could be whittled down to five candidates.
1. J.D. Vance
2. Marco Rubio
3. Ron DeSantis
4. Pete Hegseth (Vice President)
5. Sarah Huckabee Sanders (Vice President)
If not, then neither is Rubio.
The Hill is a bunch of globalist RINO’s....
Hell No to Ru-bi-o
(still mr amnesty/warmonger)
Vance is a no brainer for 2028
Don Jr should be his vp!
Feb 5, 2016 · Cruz is a “natural born citizen” because under
U.S. immigration law in 1970, he automatically became an
American because his mother was one.
DeSantis is my pick. He has taken on the tough issues like illegals and H1-bs. He also exposed the crooks in Congress for insider trading by making them disclose their trades. He also expanded E-verify and passed the Florida Save Act.
Simply beats Mr. Amnesty and a VP that has accomplished nothing.
DeSantis is my pick, too.
3, 5, 6, 7 are deal breakers.
Cruz is a nice guy. But he is clueless how to run a campaign or hire staff that can run a campaign.
Nepotism no way. And if it were nepotism, Lara Trump is by far the best.
Judas Carlson should not be on the list at all.

If we limit the field to Democrats who will be under 50 on Election Day 2028, I’d put these five at the top right now. The 2028 field is still very unsettled, so this is a current contender ranking, not a prediction of who will actually run.
Rank Democrat Age in Nov. 2028
1 Pete Buttigieg 46 Already ran a serious national campaign, strong communicator, national donor network, veteran
2 Jon Ossoff 41 Young, senator from Georgia, increasingly national profile, strong in battleground politics
3 Wes Moore 50* Governor of Maryland, military veteran, compelling personal story, national potential
4 Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, 39 Enormous name recognition, powerful progressive base, exceptional fundraising/grassroots ability
5 Ruben Gallego 48 Arizona senator, Marine combat veteran, Latino, working-class biography, potentially strong Sun Belt appeal
* Important: Moore is technically 50, not under 50, by Election Day 2028—he was born October 15, 1978.
If we use age 50–65 in November 2028 and rank them by their current combination of likelihood of running, national profile, primary strength, and general-election potential, my top five would be:
Rank Democrat Age in 2028 My assessment
1 Gavin Newsom 60 Strongest overall
2 Josh Shapiro 55 Very strong
3 Mark Kelly 64 Very strong
4 Andy Beshear 51 Rising quickly
5 J.B. Pritzker 63 Serious contender
Two-tier Republican race:
Tier 1
Vance
Rubio
Tier 2
3. Trump Jr.
4. DeSantis
5. Cruz
6. Glenn Youngkin
7. Tucker Carlson
8. Greg Abbott
9. Vivek Ramaswamy
#1 - AOC
#2 - Wes Moore
#3 - Gavin Newsom
Other candidates may sound good but they don't have a chance.
They have no chance.
