The Trump administration is drafting a Health and Human Services policy that would, for the first time, let a married parent who stays home with the children collect federal child-care money that Washington has spent thirty years routing almost exclusively to day-care centers.
The New York Times, citing people familiar with the talks and a draft document, reports the change is a priority for Vice President JD Vance and would tap the Child Care and Development Fund, the 1990s program built to help low-income parents pay for care so they could work or go to school.
Typical aid runs about $9,000 per child a year.
Under the draft, a married couple in certain income brackets could use that assistance for “parent-based childcare,” meaning one spouse stays home while the other works at least 35 hours a week.

This is pro-family so looks good. But looks like a huge opportunity for fraud and pick up an extra $9000. Muslims will love this. Same for third world “migrants”.
more government handouts to abuse ...
Agree. The opportunity for cheating and fraud is huge.
I am hoping Trump admin will put safeguards in place and monitor it closely
Hopefully it has some scam protection since muslims will scam the hell out of this.
Mr. Mom much happy?.
Oh no! The Learing centers may go out of business!
Just increase the deduction for children and be done with it. If you hand out money they will take advantage of it.
Muslims and Invaders have been defrauding the governement via learing centers for a long time.
Scamailis are sad
Maybe Somalis have been practicing this policy for years in Minnesota.
Democrat heads are exploding.
It will be funny to hear how they are against this.
Let parents borrow from their Social Security fund.
“child care”
One mom could work 3 days one week and another could work 4 days one week.
They could then alternate.

....
The non-working mom could watch the working mom’s kid(s).
If they worked 10 hours a day, they’d average 35 hours a week at say Amazon.
****
In retail or restaurant and if the daddies had M-F jobs,
It could be Saturday[10 hours] & Sunday[10 hours] for both plus two weekdays[8 hours+8 hours] for 36 hours/week each.
NO, no, no. This is ridiculous. Does no one in Washington DC understand $40 Trillion in debt? All child care subsidies need to stop. Along with paying family members to take care of their own. That’s what family is supposed to do.
Unmarried couples suing in 3,2,1.
We are all socialists and grifters now.
And daycares are not?
At first, I thought this was for all mothers, but thankfully it’s for married mothers. There are many single mothers out there with the baby daddy living in the house, and if they want it, the baby daddy needs to step up and do the right thing.
NOOOOOOOO. During Covid, the federal government paid parents to take care of their children at home if they are disabled. Thinking was because during Covid caregivers couldn’t go into the homes to take care of these children sounds really good right? Wrong once it was in place, our Governor decided to make it permanent asked for a waiver for Medicaid and now it is killing us. The fraud is astronomical and it is just a very hard debate to make because it looks like we’re taking money away from disabled children so the narrative is on their side. It’s been a mess. It’s unbelievably expensive whatever there is a government handout. There will be fraud with it. Please don’t do this please.
