You have to hand it to the Huffington Post. Were it not for its slavish devotion to abortion, events most of us would never hear about get publicized.
For example, “Gloria Steinem Speaks At Planned Parenthood Fundraiser, Tackles Gender, Sexuality,” written by Ashley Alman and posted Wednesday. Alman’s own piece is almost incoherent, but it led me to read the story in The City Sentinel, a weekly that serves Oklahoma City, which evidently served as the basis for Alman’s account, and which is hardly the model of accuracy.
Here are a couple of observations.
“The women’s advocate [Steinem] talked about how many women are victims of horrific crimes in the United States,” Alman writes. “There is a son surplus and a daughter deficit because of female infanticide, and there is a huge market in sex trafficking, where the life expectancy is very, very short.”
Pardon?
Steinem (according to The City Sentinel) talked at length about women killed in the United States by boyfriends and husbands, which horrifies anyone and everyone with even a tinge of a conscience. But the second half—about a “son surplus and a daughter deficit because of female infanticide, and there is a huge market in sex trafficking, where the life expectancy is very, very short”—obviously had nothing to do with the United States.
Presumably Steinem was tackling, whether obliquely or directly, the hundreds of millions of “missing women.” Author Mara Hvistendahl is to be credited for raising awareness with her book, “Unnatural Selection: Choosing Boys Over Girls and the Consequences of a World Full of Men.” These millions of “missing women” were prenatally targeted for extinction, because of the availability of ultrasound technology improperly used. [1]
IF the quote is accurate, and assuming–as we should—that Steinem is really talking about gendercide, it was not hundreds of millions of new-born females who were killed (although infanticide surely does occur) but obviously unborn baby girls. Steinem does not flat-out denounce gendercide which illustrates the bind into which a mindless appetite for abortion places pro-abortion feminists.
As an aside, Steinem offers the usual mishmash of feminist herstory and hosannas for Planned Parenthood. The real show-stopper was “Steinem contends it is more accurate to characterize the organization as preventing abortion stating, ‘abortion is only one percent of what Planned Parenthood does,’” according to The City Sentinel’s Darla Shelden.
Usually the utterly misleading formulation is that abortion makes up “only 3%” of PPFA’s “services.” But for Steinem, even that concession is too much.
NRLC’s Dr. Randall K. O’Bannon has debunked this nonsense (“PPFA, abortion, and ‘3%’: “The Most Meaningless Abortion Statistic Ever”). Just remember that PPFA takes in a small fortune performing 330,000+ abortions each year AND that about one out of every nine women coming through Planned Parenthood’s door will have an abortion!
Tip of the hat to Jill Stanek.
[1] We’re written about this tragedy on many occasions. Here are two examples: “It’s a girl: The three deadliest words in the world”; and “Pro-abortionists and “Gendercide”—trying to squirm out of the corner.”

Who knows if she actually died when they said she did? Her death coincides nicely with the triple child murder case that feminists are so interested in. Perhaps a nice little psyops before the midterms.
Gloria had serious mental issues.
In this world, Glorien Steinem was a hideous and corrosive personage.
I did pray for her. I prayed she found Christ. I don’t know if she did, but who can say. I hope she did.
I have had to take this approach of praying for people I abhor, people like Barney Frank and Gloria Steinem. I have found it helps me to dissipate my anger at them...it is a new thing for me. And it is worth it, because it helps offload that anger, and makes me feel closer to Christ.
As for the infanticide, there is no country on Earth I know of that practiced and practices infanticide on the basis of gender more than Communist China. This was exposed by Lou Xiaoying, a Chinese woman who found an abandoned infant girl lying among junk on the street in 1972, and made it her mission to rescue her.
It brings tears to my eyes to even consider this, a little newborn girl, just tossed on a heap of junk, to die, because their culture wanted baby boys.
If there were anything on this Earth that displayed fully the evil and barbarity of Communist China, it is that. There were no laws against this, and even if there were, they authorities would have looked the other way, as many of them would have engaged in the same practice.
She’s dead. She was the kind who couldn’t shut up about baby killing and never missed an opportunity. More so now with Trump in office.
“As for the infanticide, there is no country on Earth I know of that practiced and practices infanticide on the basis of gender more than Communist China”
India comes in a close second 🥈.
In India they have been known to kill infant girls after birth. I give them about ten years and they will be where China is now, men who can’t find brides.
Could the original wokey beeyatch define what a WOMAN IS???? Fem Hero said “A woman needs a man like a fish needs a Bicycle” and yet I’ve never heard her stand up for women’s bathrooms and sports that are being invaded by MEN!
Her leftism being the main one.
If her ashes have been spread where plants grow, shes finally made a valuable contribution.
Bkmk
I am now the proud Grandmother-in-law to an adopted Chinese woman. She and another baby girl were adopted by their American parents in the early 1990s. You should hear her (Chinese) mother talk about China.
“written by Ashley Alman and posted Wednesday. Alman’s own piece is almost incoherent”. Is Ashley mentally diseased?
“....yet I’ve never heard her stand up for women’s bathrooms and sports that are being invaded by MEN!”
Just like she didn’t support the females aborted due to sex selection.
Dust in the Wind
Song by Kansas ‧ 1977
Lyrics
I close my eyes
Only for a moment and the moment’s gone
All my dreams
Pass before my eyes with curiosity
Dust in the wind
All they are is dust in the wind
Same old song
Just a drop of water in an endless sea
All we do
Crumbles to the ground, though we refuse to see
Dust in the wind
All we are is dust in the wind
Oh, oh
Now don’t hang on
Nothin’ lasts forever but the earth and sky
It slips away
And all your money won’t another minute buy
Dust in the wind
All we are is dust in the wind
(All we are is dust in the wind)
Dust in the wind
(Everything is dust in the wind)
Everything is dust in the wind
(In the wind)
