I have had RLS for a few years. It is not severe, just annoying. I also have developed neuropathy in my lower legs. While looking for help on neuropathy I found a Youtube video on a possible help if not a cure.
I've been on it for a month and have had no change in that. However, I noticed after a couple of weeks that my RLS was 99% gone. The regimen involves red light therapy and a few supplements.

Here's the list:
600 mg N-Acetyll L-Cysteine twice a day on empty stomach.
1000 mg Acetyl L-Carnitine twice a day on empty stomach.
600 mg Alpha Lipoic Acid
600 mg Benfotiamine with food
2000 mg Omega3 twice a day
400 mg Magnesium Glycinate with food
5000 iu D3+K2
5000 mcg B12

Don't know if only one or two of these helped or if they're all needed. I have no idea if this will help anyone else but if it does let's pass it around. And let me know if it works.
I got the red light on Amazon for under $40. Supplements from Amazon, too. I'm not affiliated with the guy in the video, nor did I buy anything from him.

Good luck, hope this helps someone.

oops, forgot to add: also topical DMSO at 5%, seems to help in general with all kinds of soreness, numbness, etc.

Please do let us know if this works long term for you! I’ve had RLS for several years. I’ve been taking a drug called pramipexole, an anti-convulsant. It controls the condition reasonably well, but does have a side-effect. It lessens my sense of balance, so I have to be careful physically. I’ll definitely mark this post for future reference!

Also, Instead of more supplements, It seems helpful for anyone one healthy or not, to try to eat the foods with the nutrients rather than just eating what we feel like and hoping supplements (usually made in lab or other highly processed way) will be absorbed and some how help fix it.

I keep watching so many loved ones (family and friends) not want to eat more nutritious and instead eat lots of sugar, highly processed foods with names/chemicals you can’t pronounce, get all sorts of sick and die in recent years. some older some not so old. And a common theme is it didnt have to be so soon, or in some cases very obvious that their choices to keep eating unhealthy made their situation worse.

It’s inspiring me to eat real/more whole food, make more of my own meals rather than packaged/frozen/store made, grow what I can too. I wish I could have a cow or chickens like when I grew up, but can’t have those right now so buy best I can afford, and trying to eat more sardines and salmon for omegas.

Best to you all. And I hope some thing in my posts on this thread are helpful. I really liked helping people with massage therapy career over many decades and miss it, so I decided to chime in on this thread and add what little I know.

Yes Far infrared heat or newer red light therapy can be helpful. they sell online at home wraps, or as big as a sleeping bag for your whole body.

As can some cold therapies (Ice packs with like a T-shirt between it and you leg 12-20 minutes at a time not longer,
or Cold plunges - Ice water in a 5 gallon bucket in the tub and dunk your legs in and out.

the foot vibration as others mentioned, helpful too.

Massages do help, but as I always told clients a big part of it is what you do or don’t do to help it the other days between massages. They get expensive too!

Main thing is nutrients and water - those are what the body runs on AND can likely help balance out imbalances inside you, or maybe even help repair damaged tissues/nerves to some degree, though doctors won’t usually believe that’s possible.

God can do anything, but He hopes we will do our part while awaiting His.

“”also topical DMSO at 5%,””

Odd - for the 2nd time this week, DMSO has come up. I believe I was the one who mentioned it in an earlier thread about how many years it had been when I first used it - in the ‘70’s as I recall when it had to be ordered and mailed in a plain brown envelope like it was pornography - banned, I thought but someone else wrote that it wasn’t banned just not approved by the FDA years ago.

I have foot neuropathy and never thought of using it for that but I have back trouble and wouldn’t be able to apply it to my feet. Good idea tho’. Also leg cramps at night - diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency and had 9 treatments for that but can’t say it helped much except for taking down the swelling of feet/legs.

I use just about every pain relief cream made by MagniLife and it’s a nightly ritual for me before bed. BUT I usually need to get up in the night because of the pain to apply some TheraWorx Nerve Pain foam....THAT does help. I had restless legs when I was a teenager but that was so many years ago, I don’t remember being that young. It isn’t anything like what I go through now...

The person who can come up with a cure for foot neuropathy is going to become a wealthy person!!

I suggested earlier this week that FR come up with a group who loves to read so we can exchange ideas on books etc...perhaps we need a group who suffers with neuropathy and/or restless legs..

“”Related to PDQ.””

I know what it stands for in slang - but what does it mean here?

just a semi educated suggestion here, people probably want to be sure you get sufficient proteins too?

No offense meant, but the source of protein and the form it is consumed in makes a huge difference. These days “protein” is largely a marketing scam... An “energy bar” with 15 grams of refined sugar, flour, and palm oil suddenly becomes “healthy” in the eyes of consumers because 12 grams of soy isolate was mixed into the dough.

The “energy bar” is still junk food, regardless of how much protein is listed on the label. In reality it is not the amount of protein we eat that is important, but the source of the protein. I was at Costco yesterday and a sample lady was handing out “protein lemonade flavored drinks”... it tasted like a concoction made of chemical additives, which is what it was. My guess is that its health benefits were minimal.

Liquid Magnesium is what helps me. I spray my feet/legs with it before going to sleep. If I forget, my legs remind me when I sleep.

I’ve been taking OTC Nervive (the green ones) for years for RLS. Works great. I did not get neuropathy even during 2 rounds of chemo. My oncologist said that he suggests Nervive to patients instead of gabapentin.

Chiropractic as well need to mention. My body as a whole would not be able to propel itself round without it. Chronic pain another thing I ail from, injections never worked or made worse.

Chiropractic utilization of an activator not twist crunch pop which equals maim at immediate or some point.

Another note: my dad ended up late-onset Parkinson’s. He was exposed to Roundup working as a land surveyor and was also prescribed Reglan to help with stomach issues, which in turn gave him TD (Tardive Dyskinesia).

He also contracted Lyme disease from ticks. Lots of arthritis, the osteoarthritis type.

Because of what I had dealt with with the RLS, before that TD and had also been prescribed Reglan, even though I’d been told by the neurologist that also suffered TD and RLS it was deep brain injury, I asked whether I’d end up with Parkinson’s. I was scared.

Incontinence, then loss of hearing, tremor, depression. My daddy had an extremely strong mind so he kept soldiering on despite all and impressing all his Parkinson Specialist neurologist team.

My neurologist who was best friends with my dad’s doctor said no, very unlikely I’ll end up with Parkinson’s. Wasn’t exposed to the same things except a couple and they’d been interdicted quickly enough.

Still have RLS and insomnia but mainly, the fear of suddenly noting a tremor is pretty much behind me.

Come Quickly, Lord Jesus
