The whistleblower in Attorney General Letitia James’ office who said he was ordered to dig up dirt on President Trump met with federal prosecutors for “several hours” Tuesday, sources said.
Daniel Wiesenfeld, a former Brooklyn prosecutor and a lawyer in James’ office, had a lengthy sit-down with both criminal and civil attorneys from the FBI and the US Department of Justice over his bombshell claims, the sources told The Post.
The extent of the feds’ interest in the case is unclear.
Wiesenfeld, who has been placed on paid administrative leave, claimed in a since-deleted Friday email to colleagues that was leaked to the Times-Union that his boss, Investor Protection Bureau Chief Shamiso Maswoswe, instructed him “to find and pursue crimes” by Trump allies.
“If you believe Trump is using the [Department of Justice] attorneys to prosecute his enemies to further his political interests, you should find it equally troubling that Tish [James] is doing exactly the same thing,” the email allegedly said.
In a statement this week, James’ office called the scandal “a personnel matter.”
“The office of the attorney general is committed to upholding New York’s laws and protecting the rights and freedoms of all New Yorkers, regardless of political beliefs,” the statement said. “We strongly reject any assertion to the contrary.”

Yes. Lock her up. At the very least she should be disbarred or suspended from practicing law for at least 5 years.
Yes, lock her up!
We know about all the crime. These Democrats have inflicted on us, and it just hurts more to see it in writing all the time. Yet no one ever goes to jail.
AG James conspired to violate citizen Donald Trump’s civil/constitutional rights.
The person who told him to “dig up dirt” has real problems....conspiracy type problems....if the guy was dumb enough to put anything in writing he real real problems. The question is does he take the fall for his boss or cooperate. The email this guy sent is the best piece of evidence so far that we know of.
Do your researsh, Jorge. Letitia James is a CRIMINAL who should be in PRISON.
Treason!
At a minimum the fat DEI water buffalo should be disbarred for unethical behavior as an officer of the court.
“Abused the office? Lock her up.”

She has plenty of predicate acts to base an investigation on, even though we here like to pretend they just disappeared:
Given all the “Love” for Trump in most of New York state, she’d be abusing the office not to look at T and his financial cronies. Let’s review:
Trump and sons were found to have significant civil liability for “defrauding his own charity.” None of them can operate a charity in NY still.
Trump University was incorporated in NY
Trump was convicted in criminal court of 34 separate financial fraud felony crimes. His election saved him from punishment, but the convictions still stand.
There are more, but you get the drift. I don’t like James a bit, but this is one where the buck stops with her.
I suggest that you look up the definition of "treason" before using word recklessly. Not even close.
