I guess that makes sense, because they study reading, language, mathematics, social studies, and science. Then they are allowed to play.
But without public school indoctrination centers, where will the young kids go to learn anti-American and anti-Western culture lies?

The homeschool students’ average scores were:
29 percentile points above the norm in reading;
25 points above the norm in language;
25 points above the norm in mathematics;
26 points above the norm in social studies; and
27 points above the norm in science.
So not even close.

My homeschooled nephews in NYS kicked public school kids’ asses in standardized exams.
Was every sentence a complete sentence?
The book in question was “Kidnapped”. I believe there are a few sentence fragments to be found in it.
While this is all good, it sort of doesn’t matter.
The right to homeschool your children doesn’t rest on better test scores.
Homeschooling is a plenary right of every parent.
I saw lots of homeschooled kids over the years, being in co-ops etc. Many of the kids were bright. But not all of them. Some of them were…well…average academically.
If we based the right to homeschool on a utilitarian test like scores, then as soon as the HSed kids become average or worse, then parents loses the right to educate their children as they see fit.
And that is wrong.
It’s like the 2nd Amendment. It doesn’t matter than tens of thousands of murders involve firearms. The right to keep and bear arms is plenary (or it should be) and doesn’t turn on crime statistics. Even if more people died due to bad guys pulling triggers than lives were saved by good guys pulling triggers, who cares? My right to keep and bear arms is bigger than a t-test and is eternal.
Homeschooled kids tend to grow up and think for themselves, see lies more readily, treat authority with skepticism even if it’s given its proper respect, and other beneficial things to society. That transcends the test scores. It’s also likely why so many people hate homeschooling.
But, again, if homeschooled kids turned out to be dolts and criminals on balance, it STILL should have no bearing on that plenary right of the parent to homeschool. That includes the right to have no state oversight, reporting requirement, mandatory standardized test, etc.
So, we will take the win. But homeschoolers are playing a more advanced game.
Anything associated with an American “Eddikatorz Union” sucks raw Democrat sh*t. I know a family all taught (not eddikated) at home, and they can read Latin, and are sharp (e.g., not leftists). Death is the only solution for leftists. Wish I were kidding.
I hope the parents are taking the kids into the bathroom to beat them up for socialization purposes. < do I really need a sarcasm marker>
My wife and I home schooled, fully or partially, all four of our children, in the 80’s through the 2010’s.
All four have gone into an engineering field.
Three of four are on their first marriage.
Add in the grandchildren, and we feel successful.
Depends on which part of the chicken is being taught and what part of the chicken is teaching, it is a story sad but true and is apply so for all that do.
