US Senate Democratic nominee Abdul El-Sayed has lost support ahead of his election against Republican Mike Rogers in Michigan.
On Thursday, Michigan State Representative Karen Whitsett slammed El-Sayed's policies and declared her support for Rogers.
Whitsett's remarks came during a 'Democrats for Mike Rogers' campaign event, where Rogers claimed his door for new voters "is open".
"To Democrat voters who feel their nominee doesn't represent them and their values, all hope is not lost," Rogers said.
"I'm not asking you to be a Republican. I'm asking you for the opportunity to earn your trust… our door is open."

Normal people who have identified as Democrats in the past are going to have to face this challenge as the dems go further away from the center - where normal is most comfortable.
I think the fact that he’s a candidate for high public office is pretty shocking.

Even Schumer knows it. He's going to embrace these nuts and knows they will lose. The Democrat Party won't mind the losses because they can say the socialist wing is a failure. Allow the Republicans to own the last 2 years of Trump and go for all 3 branches in 28.
If the Commies win back House and Senate, he can say he supported them. If they lose, he supported them. Either way, Schumer will be forced out for Van Hollen or Warren as leader.
