Is Erdogan siding with the jihadis? Probably. Who let Turkey into NATO? Broadcast coming in 10 minutes. Will be available for playback after the program is over.

Is this the NATO issue with muslim Turkey that many have been warning about? Now many NATO countries seem to be falling to the muslim incursion.
Erdogan is not our friend. If Iran is defeated, Turkey will likely take their place.
I can’t imagine Turkey will do at all well against Israel.
An attack on NATO is an attack on its allies.
I hope this report isn’t true. Turkey is not just another bumbling, third-world country. They have an excellent military. I just took a look. The report below ranks Turkey’s military as #9 in the whole world.
https://www.globalfirepower.com/country-military-strength-detail.php?country_id=turkey
By the way, they rank the United States as #1.
Israel is #15.
(It’s just their opinion, of course. And I do find some of their ranking odd.)
Until it’s not.
Seemed like a good idea at the time I guess. They probably saw it as if they didn't ally with us they'd ally with Russia.
The Bosporus Strait is pretty strategic for access between the Mediterranean and the Black Sea, which is probably more important to Romania and Bulgaria than the US (e.g. I don't think it compares to the Panama Canal).
Back in the day I think they thought it was a cool thing, hence the Turkish setting shown favorably in the Bond movie From Russia With Love.
And there's the Incirlik air base but we couldn't use that in attacking Iran so what's the point?
Erdogan wants to bring back the Ottoman Empire. Hamas leadership has sanctuary in Turkey, hence, not viewed favorably by the Israelis.
That’s Just Great....
And Trump was talking about selling F-35s to Turkey. ARE YOU CRAZY!!
From what I’ve read Israel might not win a war with Turkey. If so I could see nukes being used.
Not an attack on an extraterritorial expeditionary force. Afghanistan harbored the organization responsible for 9/11 and the U.S. invoked Article 5 ("An attack on one is an attack on all.") 9/11 was an attack on U.S. soil.
Here’s another problem. If Israel gets into a serious squabble with Turkey, Turkey would be fighting on just one front.
But Israel would be potentially fighting on three fronts: To the south in Gaza, to the east in the West Bank, and to the north against Turkey.
As you noted, if Israel starts to lose - and badly - using their nuclear weapons might conceivably become an option.
How would that play in the United States, Israel’s greatest friend? Israel attacks Turkish troops. Then Israel ends up nuking Turkey.
If they are striking Turkish troops in Syria it doesn’t become a NATO issue. Now if they drop bombs on Turkey itself…that would be bad.
People need to go read the article in NATO agreement.
It does not require any country sending troops or arms to their allies. It just says they have to react. Strongly worded letters are reactions.
...And I feel fine.
So, is Trump gonna leave NATO if this happens?
How many family members would have to be tortured and/or raped before a couple of nuclear weapons’ officers give up the control codes for those B61’s USAF is keeping at Incirlik?
“Is Erdogan siding with the jihadis? Probably.” He is a muslim after all.
It’s spelled Turkiye now. Try to keep up please.
