By age 18, a child in the United States can receive roughly 30 to 75 total vaccine doses if they follow standard schedules and get annual flu shots. Fewer shots are needed because vaccines are combined.
By comparison, in Germany, the Robert Koch Institute (via the Standing Committee on Vaccination, STIKO) recommends routine protection against about 12 to 15 infectious diseases for children. Because Germany relies heavily on multi-component combination shots (like the 6-in-1 hexavalent vaccine), children receive roughly 11 to 14 actual physical injections.
Elsewhere in Europe, in England, children receive around 20 to 25 individual vaccine doses from birth to age 14, delivered via roughly 14 to 16 actual needle injections.
Similarly, under Japan’s routine immunization program, children receive around 20 to 22 individual injection shots.
And in Spain, children receive around 15 to 18 individual injection shots from birth through adolescence under the official public health system.
These comparisons raise some obvious questions.
Doesn’t it look like children in the United States get more shots today, and there would be a valid reason to recommend fewer? Do children in countries with fewer shots have worse health results?
Do other countries ignore science when they have fewer shots? Wouldn’t it be nice if the media were curious instead of just repeating talking points to trash President Donald Trump?

Trust no doctor or group pushing vaccines.
They are just drug dealers in league with Big Pharma seeking to fill their pockets at the expense of your health. Did we learn nothing from Covid 19?
However, looking at Europe today (especially), that argument is no longer valid.
People in other countries don’t allow the pharmaceutical companies to dictate to them. They don’t allow their doctors to bully them
That’s why.
“ The old argument for more shots was that we are a country that allows a lot of immigration from third world countries who are not as immunized.”
I’ve never heard that
But, we already know why: $$$$
Since Covid, I’ve been wondering what exactly all the shots were at boot camp.
When I was a kid we had maybe five or six or seven vaccines spread a year or years apart throughout our grammar school years, and nobody had peanut allergies, ADD, ASD, or the host of other ssues helicopter parents are experiencing with their kids now.
Once the African immigrants finish flowing into Europe, they too will start having to inoculate against stupid diseases.
One proposal of the Trump administration is to innoculate the MMR vaccines with SEPARATE injections, to test out if too much of a load has been given at once. It will be interesting to see if this causes any difference.
Exactly.
That tsunami of last worlders who were invited in by Biden weren’t required to be vaccinated or even healthy as I recall.
I can only remember one or two shots as a kid growing up. MMR, Polio. TB. I remember chicken pox parties.
WRT splitting out the MMR components and giving them separately, I think this is a good idea. However, as far as I can tell, the individual component vaccines were discontinued years ago, and it could take up it to a decade for them to be available again. It sounds fishy to me.
I don’t like the way the question is phrased: “can’t we ask why other countries give fewer shots?” - as if people are cattle and receive whatever shots our governments give us.
If humans find that arrangement acceptable - then I’m embarrassed to be a human.
I had a little bit of sympathy for people who were told they would lose their job if they refused the shot.
But at this point, anyone still waiting to be told by their government how many boosters they need - is pathetic.
Many people submitted because they wanted to go on vacations and cruises. I’ve seen very few of them posting in the last couple years. Makes you wonder about their health situation.
And Senator DR. Bill Cassidy is big upset!!
Wonder why he lost his primary??
Six in one shots are a true insult to children’s immune systems.
Not only the number of shots
but what is in them too
Maybe foreign governments think of annual flu shots as optional?
Near the end of 2020 the hospital where my wife works required the first shot and verified she got it. The next few boosters were “required” as well, but she dragged her feet and there was no follow-up at all, and no one asked for proof, so she never got any more.
The same was true for a couple of orchestra concerts and graduation ceremonies for grandchildren at University of PA that she insisted on attending (I did not). They asked for proof on the first shot but not n the boosters.
The third case was travel where she was required to show proof on the first shot but never after that.
What pisses me off to this day is how the timing of the election figured in with the strictness of the hospital, the university and the airlines. Once Biden was ‘elected’, she was never again asked for proof.
