The Vera C. Rubin Observatory is a major astronomical facility located on Cerro Pachón in Chile, jointly funded by the U.S. National Science Foundation and the Department of Energy. It is named after astronomer Vera Rubin, who provided the first convincing evidence for the existence of dark matter.
Key operational milestones include:

The Vera C. Rubin Observatory is in the early stages of its ten-year mission, having officially begun full survey operations in July 2026 (specifically June 30, 2026).
Prior to full operations, the observatory captured its first images during test runs in June 2025, which included a composite of 678 images taken over seven hours and a video combining 1,100 images.
During its full survey, the telescope is designed to capture approximately 1,000 images per night, with each image covering an area as large as 45 full moons. Over the course of the decade-long survey, it is expected to generate more than 2 million images and produce 500 petabytes of data.

So, even though you thought it was fun to pile on, like most of the others, I wiull actually educate you just a wee bit to let you realize just how ignorant tyyour response really was.
That is only one fact that is described in the video. I'll agree that the title associated with the video, is what a clickbait post might resemble, however, never judge a post until you at least investiagate it to a degree, because we are required to use the actual title associated with what we are posting.
It further compares what it previously took to the latest images taken ro see hat differences the images are revealing. No human being could ever do that task as comprehevisvely as the computer can, nor as quickly. We mibht catch any real obvious difgference that jumps out at us, but we would miss the majority of them. The differences they spot are reported back in descennding imporatance order so the the more important differences are listed first going down the scale of importance. I forget how many wide screen TVs it would take to show the entire picture as a whole, but it was a very high number.
The video most likely is generated by AI, but there are many reasons for one to use AI to generate the video, but that still doesn't mean that it is devoid of intersting information regarding a real observatory that was 20 years in the planning & development, and it was tested last symmer to share some of the first images it caight, and starting June, 30th of this year it began its 10 year mission, and some of what they are seeing is incredible. AI is a very ingenious creation. created by mankind. All of the scare objections about the machine taking over, are what creators built into the programming to make people think that the machine is capable of thinking, but the machine just does what it is told to do. It does the job much faster than a humnan being could ever do, and it doesn't suffer from fatigue.

I just started not to read the articles with those type of words and comment on those threads. I also don’t watch the youtube videos. Yes, I am commenting on this thread and broke my own rule. I wondered if others noticed the trend in headline wording too.

What is being captured are innumerable asteroids that are constantly on the move. The ability to see and track these asteroids is in effect the birth of a new aspect of astro physics and the understanding of the our tiny solar system

But we realy never know what it may see, but one would logically believe that your statement would be correct, that they might be too close to see. But if they were passing through the Milky Way Galaxy, or even some other far away galaxy?

Then we have people who think they may be one of those people, when in reality they are not, but they do seem to influence enough people who believe that they are. They are the ones that truly bring forth danger & evil. Anthony Fauci would be the example I would put forth as one of those types of people.
the big news is that that telescope in chile will be able to instantly record events all over the universe and send notices instantly to telescopes all over earth to focus on given events instantaneously. they have 6 million of these events daily.
Its unlikely that there are six million telescopes. so its not clear how they prioritize steller events.
I can’t actually point you to a video of the new telescope’s findings, but the telescope sees what it is aimed at every night, night after night after night. I have though actually seen the video and the telescope’s computer marking the asteroid and following it each night. The videos do however exist.
Making the map of all that it can see is the telescopes job
The stars are fixed but the very tiny asteroids are in fact tracked by the telescopes amazing ability to see so very well. As I recall, each is specifically identified.
To me, what is revealed is quite humbling.
The Vera C. Rubin Observatory has already captured approximately 10 million galaxies in its initial test imagery, which represents a mosaic of the Virgo Cluster.
Over the course of its planned 10-year Legacy Survey of Space and Time, the observatory expects to chart approximately 20 billion galaxies in total.
It is these kinds of facts that made me want to share it. because I just love to be ridiculed by people who want to make fun of a headline (title) for which I had no part in its creation, and actually didn't necessarily like how it was created, because it debases what is actually being reported on.
