Paramount keeping CNN sale ‘on the table’ in attempt to resolve lawsuit over Warner Bros. deal

Paramount Skydance (PSKY.O), is keeping all options, including a possible sale of CNN, "on the table" to resolve California's antitrust suit challenging ​its $110 billion acquisition of Warner Bros Discovery (WBD.O), the company's ‌chief legal officer said.

Speaking at Politico's California Agenda conference on Tuesday, Makan Delrahim also became the first Paramount executive to publicly acknowledge the Los Angeles-based company may ​leave California, after recent media reports cited unnamed sources about a potential ​relocation.

I would love to see them punish states that are hanging this deal out to dry, as well as the folks in the acting ranks who have been shrieking about it. What do you base that opinion on? CNN may have little value, but that doesn’t mean the cable news platform does. If what you say is accurate then FNC has no value. CNN’s lack iof value is due to its performance, not its business segment. But we’ll find out in the event it’s divested, won’t we?

News is increasingly being delivered in streaming pod casts on youtube by both those who have news from on site and those who are just garbage.

The garbage will be sorted out but what remains is superior to the CNN product.

Fox is a different matter.

ChatGPT estimates CNN’s market value to be $5B based on its parent company’s projections of the network’s 2026 revenues and EBITDA. It definitely has value which will be quantified if it is sold off as a part of Paramount’s acquisition of Warner Brothers Discovery.
