John Goodman is giving fans a closer look at his dramatic transformation after losing more than 200 pounds.
The 74-year-old actor recently appeared in an Instagram selfie with Disney's Wizards of Waverly Place star David DeLuise, who happened to run into Goodman while at a supermarket. The photo quickly caught attention, with Goodman looking noticeably different from the actor fans remember from his years playing Dan Conner on ABC's Roseanne.
Goodman starred as the lovable but complicated family patriarch throughout the sitcom’s original run from 1988 to 1997. His character’s weight was often referenced on the show, but Goodman later revealed that his own weight had climbed as high as 400 pounds.
Goodman had struggled with alcoholism for decades and eventually entered rehab, later describing the decision as a turning point in his life.

It’s what is inside of John Goodman that makes him disgusting.
Similar to Jelly Roll who is somewhat currently unrecognizable due to losing his excess poundage.
He should buy a new suit.

Good for him. Being over 300 pounds is not good for anyone. I am sure a lot of damage has already been done…but I bet he feels better.
If he is exercising, his skin would tighten up faster. I’ve lost 60 pounds and I am saggy in the arms and thighs, but my face tighten up pretty quickly. I DO have more wrinkles now, but as a man that makes me look “dignified”. LOL. (It makes me look old.)
I woke up one morning and just decided casually that wasnt going to drink or get drunk anymore. No meetings, no counseling no nothing. It’ll be fifty years this November 5th, Guy Fawkes day since my last drink.
Goodman reminds me of Mike Pompeo who also lost a bunch of weight. Now both of them are hard for me to recognize.

I woke July 26, 2026 and said “I’m going to get healthier and shed weight.” Lost 35 pounds in 7 months and have kept it off. Exercise, diet, hardly any alcohol, low carbs, low sugar, clean foods and nutrition, no processed foods.
The Before photo looks like some guy who might be 210.
However, it is hard to judge his height from that perspective.
He would look better in a suit that fit him.

I would imagine Goodman did buy the suit to fit......
but as often happens, the pounds just keep coming off.
I guess we’ve seen the last of Big Dan Two Court!
He looks awful. The grey cast to his skin is telling.
