Former NBA player Brandon Clarke died of a lethal combination of drugs, according to officials.
The County of Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner announced on Friday the 29-year-old passed away from “the effects of heroin and cocaine.”
It added that the manner of his passing was an accident.
Clarke died inside of a San Fernando Valley home on May 11, and according to the LA County DME, medical personnel first located him “unresponsive in his bedroom” at around 5 p.m.
He was ultimately pronounced deceased at 5:15 p.m.
Drug paraphernalia was discovered near his body and the initial investigation surrounding his passing centered on the possibility of an overdose, according to multiple reports.
TMZ was first to report the cause of death.

Does the NBA do drug testing?..................
Gee, wish someone had warned us about the dangers of chasing cocaine with heroin, aka “speedballs”:
Driving that train, high on cocaine. Casey Jones, you better watch your speed
Trouble ahead, trouble behind.
And you know that notion just crossed my mind
Is it really an accident when you knowingly and willingly inject a combination of drugs into your body that, at the age of 29, you know could kill you?
Yes, the NBA conducts drug testing under its Anti-Drug Program, which is agreed upon with the National Basketball Players Association. Players face random testing for performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs) and drugs of abuse during both the season and the off-season.
Random is a roll of the dice.
He John Belushi’d.
What does it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?
Yes, it’s such a fine distinction that they make between accidental death and suicide that it has no meaning. Is it really accidental when you repeatedly engage in something that has a significant and measurable chance of killing you? What about Matthew Perry? The guy was abusing 9 ways from Sunday, and when he finally dies from it, the prosecutors apply an unusual degree of vengeance on the supply chain, as though he was a purely innocent victim on whom the piano had just fallen.
My younger brother , too . He was 31 .
So sorry for your tragic loss.
Yeah ... the ‘accidentally’ OD’d .... this time.
When are these guys going to realize that drugs and alcohol are not cool?
John Belushi could not be reached for comment.
Are we sure this is the cause of death? Maybe someone thought Brandon Clarke (with an “e”) is related to Caitlin Clark (without the “e”)?

Was it over when Brandon and I did speedballs? Apparently yes.
You don't accidentally take drugs. You take the chance of dying any time you mix drugs together. People are very stupid.
Post Mortem apparently
