A German judicial panel in Munich issued a life prison sentence Thursday to an Afghan citizen responsible for a vehicle-ramming rampage during a demonstration last year that claimed the lives of a toddler and her mother while leaving scores wounded, AFP reported.
The regional court found the 25-year-old defendant, named under local privacy guidelines as Farhad N., guilty on two counts of murder, 23 counts of attempted murder, and 22 counts of causing bodily harm, 19 of which were categorized as serious.
Magistrates determined that the offender's actions bore a "particular gravity of guilt"...
The vehicular assault took place immediately prior to the Munich Security Conference, an annual gathering of global defense and political figures, and was among a series of violent incidents involving foreign nationals that intensified political debates over asylum policies and domestic security in the lead-up to last year's federal election.
During the incident, Farhad N. maneuvered a Mini Cooper around a stationary police vehicle before accelerating straight into a crowd of 1,400 union marchers. Clipped from text due to size limits on posts, and so outrageous it couldn't be left out due to that consideration. Farthead should be put in Genpop, and let his fellow inmates decide his fate.

Farhad N. entered Germany as an unaccompanied 15-year-old minor in 2016. Although authorities denied his formal asylum application, he received authorization to remain in the country and obtain employment. Police records indicate he held employment in the security sector and was heavily involved in bodybuilding.
Investigators determined he underwent self-radicalization during the months preceding the strike by viewing online broadcasts from extremist Afghan clerics.
The vehicle attack occurred shortly before the February 2025 parliamentary election, in which the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party captured over 20 percent of the vote, its highest tally to date.

The Afghan migrant who plowed his car into a demonstration in Munich, injuring 36 people — including a mother and her 2-year-old child — was a bodybuilding “Islamic extremist” who said “Allahu Akbar” after his arrest, officials said Friday.
Farhad Noori, a 24-year-old who had just been turned down for asylum, admitted to intentionally driving a mini-cooper into the 1,500-strong crowd in Munich in what appears to be an “Islamic extremist attack,” German law enforcement officials announced Friday, according to the Sun.
Prosecutor Gabriele Tilmann said that during a two-hour police interrogation Noori “gave an explanation that I would summarise as religious motivation.” That emerged soon after Noori was detained, when he began praying — and told cops “Allahu Akbar,” or “God is great,” Tillman said. . .
“ Bring back putting perps in the stocks.”
That was corporal punishment for minor crimes.

My maternal grandmother left Poland in 1927, so she missed the Holocaust, thank G-d. My paternal grandfather left Odessa around 1914 to avoid getting drafted in the Czar’s army. And yes, victimization is no good in the long run, I think, when it is used for obvious political gain.
Still, I do believe that compassion towards all victims of war and genocide is a good and G.dly feeling.
I just don’t know how to properly separate the two. It seems that there is a ‚macro-level‘ to it, which is on the scale of nations, their governments and power elites - and then there is the ‚micro-level‘ of individual human beings.
For instance, I thought that the counterstrikes of the Israeli armed forces after the bestial atrocity of Oct. 7th were absolutely justified.
Still I felt sorry on a human level about the Arab toddlers and infants, who did not survive.
Luckily, there were not many of them, since ZaHal uses the highest restraint possible in warfare, when it comes to enemy civilians. Tragically, such unlucky occurrences cannot always be avoided totally (highest praise is due to the Israeli servicemen, who, even at the height of battle, tossed packages of „Plumpy’Nut“ into Gazan houses with hungry small children. Isn’t that absolutely admirable? 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻).
It’s a difficult situation, and I always think that I am (figuratively) dancing on a tightrope in this regard…
Yes, and there were and are so many more conflicts in history. So many lives to mourn…sometimes it feels like an entire universe full of sorrow 😔
