It took a lot of courage for the family of Angel Sarah Rampersad to refuse to allow Mayor Mamdani to speak at her funeral on Friday.
The 28-year-old US Army staff sergeant from Queens was killed on July 17, 2026, in an Iranian missile attack on Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan where she was stationed as part of Operation Inherent Resolve, the campaign against ISIS in Iraq and Syria.
Rampersad lost her life in a battle against the world’s largest terrorist regime, whose proxy Hamas Mamdani tacitly supports.
She gave her life for the country she loves and Mamdani clearly does not.
Relegated to the fourth row in the Calvary Assembly of God Church, just half a mile from Rampersad’s Ozone Park home, New York’s Islamo-Marxist mayor was forced to endure a succession of Christian hymns and gospel songs as he reportedly fumed and fidgeted while waiting in vain to be called upon to give a speech.
“The family is more conservative and wanted to limit any political distractions,” a source involved in the funeral planning told The Post.
Good move. We know Mamdani well enough after his seven benighted months as mayor to know that he would have delivered a speech slyly designed to divide and aimed not at the grieving mourners inside a church whose faith he disdains but at an international audience of anti-American Muslims and the like-minded diaspora he cultivates at home.
Awkward appearance
After the service, as NYPD cops carried Rampersad’s flag-draped coffin from the church and into a hearse for the blocks-long police procession to her eventual resting place in Long Island, Mamdani stood awkwardly in the shadows, his face clouded.
