Axon Lightpost is a fixed, infrastructure-mounted intelligent ALPR camera designed to transform existing streetlights and outdoor infrastructure into real-time vehicle intelligence tools. Lightpost delivers automated license plate recognition (ALPR), vehicle attribute recognition (VAR), and livestreaming video seamlessly into the Axon public safety ecosystem with minimal physical footprint.

Built in collaboration with Ubicquia, Axon Lightpost installs quickly on existing light poles without trenching or new pole infrastructure, dramatically reducing deployment complexity and cost.

Once powered and network-connected, Axon Lightpost begins autonomous operation with no daily user interaction, providing continuous detection and secure data upload to Axon Evidenceand Axon Fusus.

But, but, but, but, but how are we going to catch dangerous axe murderers if we don’t know where everybody is all of the time. Nobody will use it for anything else. I promise!

The Guardian wrote 15 years ago that Italian police used automatic license plate readers.

The notion has occurred to me that this will be how the Antichrist will feign omnipotence. By having cameras everywhere and monitoring where every human being is.

Unless you live in a remote rural area and never leave then you’re tracked, videoed, recorderded and watched. If you carry a cellphone your tracked and recorderded. It it is what it is.

I’m not worried where I’m at except the cell phone BS but it stays home.

Many Wisconsin communities have (amazingly!) dumped their FLOCK contracts.

Just a reminder, Kids. Mother Government is NOT your friend. She has never been, nor will she ever be. Plan accordingly. Live FREE!

I've read that the Chicoms have been using facial recognition for a billion people for years, doesn't seem to be in the news much.

Between this and FLOCK no wonder their push for AI data centers.

Their executions aren’t in the news much either.

If you travel, many times now, they don’t even look at the passport anymore. You look at a camera, and it pulls your picture and name up.

It’s convenient, until it isn’t

They’ve been around at least that long. I recall seeing them for sale in the mid/late 2000s.

Fortunately the bureaucracy cares more about keeping themselves, VIP's, relatives, Union Officials, Judges, campaign donors, and such, out of the databases, and they spend all that time and effort on making sure they have a different relationship with the systems. It chokes the whole mess up.

In places like any large city, the drivers have no tags, stolen tags, tags made off of a printer, and so on. (Speaking for Memphis) It's so bad that my county sheriff neighbor tells me six out of ten are non compliant or dirty. They are told not to stop or pull these vehicles over. If they did so, the jail would be floor seating room only. The courts would be choked for five years.
