Whether Stephanie White likes it or not, she has to deal with the issues that her players have gotten involved in.
One such issue is the backlash towards Sophie Cunningham, who commented in an ESPN profile that female athletes should be protected in sports where they “shouldn’t have to go against biological men.”
Prior to the Indiana-Portland game on Friday, White was asked about her stance on this matter. The Fever head coach offered a disclaimer for her response.
“I don’t know that I would say that I’m educated enough from a scientific standpoint. I don’t ever believe that exclusion is the answer.”
When asked if there was “frustration” that off-court issues are dominating the discourse surrounding the Fever, White admitted that her team would have to learn how to deal with such narratives on the regular.
“There are some frustrations, of course, because we want to talk about basketball. We want to continue to work on our game…But I also understand that this is part of our growth edge as a league. We have to be able to manage. We have to be able to insulate as much as we can.”
It will be difficult for the Fever to insulate itself, however, if the fans’ energy remains at a high level.
Three days ago, the Fever-Fire game on Friday was preceded by a rally in support of Cunningham. The participants in this rally echoed their support for her stance on transgender athletes’ participation in women’s sports.

How?
Simply declare you identify as 70 for your full social security or old enough for your company's pension/retirement plan.
How can they tell you know in the name of diversity?
Then she won’t mind excluding them since she has no evidence to support including them.
The first WNBA team that hires a trans female (male) player will win every game and will be champions thus killing the league forever.
All it takes is one.
And so did those animals!!
Yep. IF I had money I’d apply for an expansion team and it’d be all trans dudes. We’d win every title going forward.
It certainly wasn’t biology school. 🤪😀😝
There would be no forward. Who wants to see TWNBA?
Years ago, the boys junior varsity hockey team, of a small northern Minnesota high school, played the U.S. women’s national hockey team, and beat them.
She admits she’s a pathetic coward.
It’s not about exclusion. It’s about fair play and common sense.
She could settle this in her own mind by inviting a Jr High boys team to play her team.
AI Overview Yes, a joint dissertation exists, but it usually means a thesis co-authored by two students for a Master's degree or a single doctoral thesis completed across two partner universities (often called a cotutelle or joint PhD) rather than two PhD students writing one text together.
WHOA - YOU'RE RIGHT - GREAT RESPONSE.
““I don’t know that I would say that I’m educated enough from a scientific standpoint. I don’t ever believe that exclusion is the answer.”
2/3 of her team are trans advocates.
WHOA - YOU'RE RIGHT - GREAT RESPONSE. Stephanie White is an idiot and so are her sycophants.,
By the way, I wish Marsha Blackburn had said, I assume you are not a trained weather forecaster either, but do you think you could go outside and tell me if it’s raining or not?
If you’re a straight white male or female in that case they would look at your birth certificate, enforce the law.
Or all of them.
How a person ‘self identifies’ wins over birth certificates... but you’re right. That only works for commie/democrat ‘elites’ and the left wing sexual weirdo community.
Then again, what do we have to lose?
The commie ‘press’ will ignore it but we could get coverage on FOX. We need to ‘organize’ and try it... maybe ‘rent a mob’ like democrats do - of course the same corrupt New York Times idiots who ‘missed’ democrats doing that for the last 50 years would catch us doing it within a month or two... the press is so deserving of our contempt and disgust.
Still it would be fun - and that’s what Alinsky stressed - that the projects chosen had to be fun for the people doing them. He knew what worked.
Stephanie White graduated phi beta kappa from Purdue. She was named a 1999 Academic All American. She majored in communications. Yet she says she isn’t well enough educated to answer if men should be able to play women’s basketball. Interesting. https://t.co/QeocPRKZG7— Clay Travis (@ClayTravis) August 1, 2026
