Corrupt and Despotic Ukraine Is Not Worth Fighting WWIII - This war is about money, not saving ‘democracy.’
American Thinker ^ | 1 Aug, 2026 | J.B. Shurk

Posted on 08/01/2026 4:45:50 AM PDT by MtnClimber

Seeing Ukrainian dictator Volodymyr Zelenskyy at Senator Lindsey Graham’s funeral seemed fitting: Z-Man’s money-laundering operation in Kyiv was the proximate cause of Graham’s death. Had the senator not been working so hard to add to the butcher’s bill in Europe, he would still be alive today. Surely there is a lesson here for some people to see.

I know there are plenty of pro-Ukraine cheerleaders who just cannot stomach any criticism of an ongoing military conflict that has now lasted longer than WWII. However, I have never seen this as anything other than a civil war that British, European, and American globalists have exploited for monetary and geopolitical reasons that have nothing to do with the sovereignty of Ukraine.

Ukraine is not a member of the European Union. It is not a member of NATO. If Ukraine’s diminutive dictator wishes to turn what’s left of his country into a parking lot, so be it. Let the weight of this folly fall on the head of a comedian who has led his country to slaughter and will leave it a rump of its former self. When the war finally ends, the multinational investment firms will recycle the carnage into reconstruction profits. Ukraine will be stripped and sold for parts. Its people will live in other countries. Foreigners from Asia, Africa, and the Middle East will be dumped into Ukraine by the millions to make up for the rump state’s depleted workforce. Ukraine will never look the same. And future historians will wonder why a comedian was allowed to destroy an entire nation.

It’s not as if the Ukrainian people have had a choice in this matter. Elections have been canceled. Public dissent is outlawed. Opposition political parties are outlawed.

There are lots of opinions out there. If the democRATs are backing Ukraine and this conflict then I have to wonder why.

The Ukrainian people spoke most loudly by stopping the Russian Invasion at the beginning of the war.

The Ukrainians surprised everyone by not caving to the Russian military.

Everyone was surprised, including President Biden, who gave a backhanded go-ahead to Vladimir Putin.

The invasion woke up Europe, re-invigorated NATO, brought Finland and Sweden into NATO, and is forging a militarily strong nation-state of Ukraine.

The major winner in the war has been China. The major losers have been Russia and Ukraine.

It is in the interests of Europe and the United States to have Ukraine as a buffer state against further Russian agressions.

I completely disagree with his opinion. It IS about the sovereignty of Ukraine. It's very clear that the Ukrainians do not want to be ruled by the Russians again.

There are some corruption problems with the Ukrainian leadership, but there are corruptions problems with U.S. leadership as well, primarily the Democrats.

The Ukraine War is locked in by powerful forces that want a war with Russia.

The Friday news summary taken down twice is still there...

Is NATO in the interests of the United States?

It seemed like the left in the US was trying to provoke Russia. It seems the last straw was when a Biden diplomat told his Chinese counterpart that Ukraine joining NATO was a done deal.

Working so hard to add to the butcher’s bill in Europe, he would still be alive today? That is highly offensive and I don’t believe that this author has any idea about what “Caused” Graham’s death. The role of God is already taken Shurk. Graham died because it was his time to go. Not a minute sooner or later. If Shurk disagree’s with Graham’s life work, then it is fair for him to complain about that. But not to say he died because he didn’t do what I BELIEVE he should have done.

This is the first time that North Korea has joined forces with Russia to fight a European war, and Red China is currently training the Russian Army troops used in the invasion of Ukraine.

It is important to these countries and I think Trump and the United States is doing what they should be doing in supporting Ukraine against those forces, and how did WWIII get into it?

Any article that starts off by describing Zelensky as a dictator can be dismissed as propaganda. Zelensky is working with a functioning parliament and has had to reverse course because of public demonstrations. Compare that to Putin.

It is in the interests of Europe and the United States to have Ukraine as a buffer state against further Russian agressions.

And arguably the whole point of the war was twofold.

1.) That Russia has historic reason to want a buffer between itself and Western Europe

2.) Russia remembers all those promises in the 1990s about NATO not expanding one inch eastward.

For my thinking, Ukraine is part of the cleanup of the former Soviet Union, which Putin didn’t want to have to pay for. Let’s face it, not all countries in the former Soviet Union were equal. Ukraine got nuclear-tipped missiles, nuclear reactors and underground weapons factories, and Bulgaria got the toxic waste of battery production.

America’s Democrat Party and Russia have always been bosom buddies. It is no surprise, to me, that the ‘Rats cooked up a way to help Russia out.

"This war is about money, not saving ‘democracy.’"

I believe that. Lots of dirty politicians and other government officels, both state and fed, have been washing their bucks in Ukraine for years.

1. NATO or Europe, has exactly those reasons to want Ukraine as a buffer zone, given Soviet (Russian) aggression before and after WWII.

2. NATO and Ukraine remember all those promises by Russia to respect Ukrainian borders if Ukraine gave up nuclear weapons.

The US had anti-Russia hawks like Victoria Nuland at State Department itching for war with Russia. Russia took the bait and invaded so the start of the war is certainly on them.

The European Globalists sacrificed Ukraine as their proxy war agent. Ukraine will never recover.
