A Netflix executive was fired from his $1.1 million a year job after revealing during a “trust exercise” at a work retreat that he had taken medically prescribed ketamine, a lawsuit has claimed.
Kevin Baillie, who was vice president and head of creative at Eyeline Studios, is suing the company after they launched an investigation into his comments that ultimately ended in his firing, the papers say.
Baillie, who’s been on the visual effects team for “Pirates of the Caribbean” and the “Harry Potter” franchises, says he took the drug under medical supervision in October and November of 2022 at a Santa Barbara clinic.
He sought the treatment for clinical depression after the death of his mother, according to the suit.
During what’s called a “Vulnerability-Trust exercise” at a January 2026 retreat at the exclusive Sendero Ranch, a Northern California property owned by Netflix, Baillie shared with his colleagues that he had undergone the treatment, the suit says.
Baillie claims he explained the reason why he had taken the drug but was investigated by Netflix. On March 18, 2026 a company investigator brought the incident up, “in a manner suggesting suspicion of recreational drug use,” the suit reads.
The executive was fired in April with the company’s attorney confirming “the ketamine therapy issue has factored into the termination,” the papers say, and go on to suggest Baille was denied up to a year of severance pay.
Baillie says in the lawsuit the “scope” of the investigation related to alleged profanity and drinking. He had been warned during his performance review that he should “drop one or two less f-bombs but don’t stop entirely.”

I suspect they already did not like him and used this as an excuse. If he really did use it under doctor’s care, I suspect a lawsuit is in order. They were dumb to tell him they used something against him on a “trust” exercise.
I wouldn’t have said anything myself as I have little trust in most people, and less for any business.

Same thing in any blue-collar job as well. Now with women there, things have changed and NOT for the better. They can’t lift as much and do as much, but they get paid the same and the men get all the grunt work.
Sounds like he needs some ketamine to calm down, if he’s gone ballistic.

He gave them a reason to be a problem.
I was asked that question in a job interview once.
I gave a polite non-answer and we continued. But that was effectively the end of the interview, and I never considered taking the job after that point.
As for a corporate-sponsored "trust" session - Nope. Just Nope. The Miranda warning comes to mind. "Anything you say can be used against you".
The company I work for did the same "anonymous" survey thing every year.
I NEVER turned one in. After a few years of these the director asked why I wasn't participating in the process.
I replied to him - "If the surveys were truly anonymous you wouldn't be asking me this question. Shall I call my attorney?"
They never said another word to me about it. lol
What is really BAD is the women on the police force.

Ketamine is not just sometimes used therapeutically. It’s used a lot therapeutically.

Ketamine is a controlled substance. I suspect that he tested positive on a drug test and did not havew a Rx.
Sue Netflix into oblivion. If the drug was prescribed and not used while at work, it is not works’ business. Also, find out who ratted him out and ID them on Meta, etc.
We went downhill as a country ever since we let them vote. I stand by that statement.
