Political parties tend to harshly reject the idea that they are a threat to the constitutional order, but the Democratic Socialists of America are making it part of their brand.
The DSA has released a new program that, besides contemplating the advent of a classless society, calls for abolishing the US Senate, the presidency, and the Supreme Court.
This is literally a revolutionary program to topple the American system as we have known it since 1789.
It’s the kind of thing you might expect after angry rebels mount the barricades in Washington, DC, and overthrow the government.
It makes proposals to abolish the filibuster seem trifling in comparison, and even court-packing look relatively moderate.
The proposal to kill off the world’s greatest deliberative body has gotten the most attention.
The DSA’s co-chair, Gustavo Gordillo, went on Fox News to explain that the Senate is “undemocratic,” while Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has said that she opposes the filibuster and elements of the Senate that “were founded on Jim Crow.”
Contra Gordillo, the Senate is a democratic institution; no one wins a Senate seat without getting more votes than his or her opponent.
Yet, part of its role in our system is to serve as a check on popular passions.

We need to proceed as if the system were completely broken, because it is.
so they are Terrorists
They all need to be exported.
Other countries don’t seem to have tariffs up against such yet....
Isn’t Rich Lowry one of those closet communists?
I am all for free speech, but this is insurrection…….time to start taking out the DSA trash.
The UK has the House of Commons. There is no check on anything they might want to do. The House of Lords was rendered toothless years ago.
Perhaps that’s the model the DSA is looking at.
Or maybe they’re looking at the old Supreme Soviet of the Soviet Union. The Supreme Soviet had the same powers as does today’s House of Commons, but with a way cooler name.
AN AMERICAN PINOCHET IS NEVESSARY
Or a sane Caesar.
As I keep posting, Article V specifically says, “Provided that no Amendment which may be made prior to the Year One thousand eight hundred and eight shall in any Manner affect the first and fourth Clauses in the Ninth Section of the first Article; and that no State, without its Consent, shall be deprived of its equal Suffrage in the Senate.”
I would say that this should render any DSA member to either renounce the DSA platform or resign from office.
Or repeal the 17th amendment.
Keep the presidency.
No attempt at dissolving any part of the federal government would succeed.
Any REAL attempt would be met with such anger that the ANTIFA riots would pale in comparison.
If these morons were actually concerned with the corruption in DC, they would be advocating the repeal of the 17th Amendment to the Constitution, which put the US Senate in the pocket of American Corporations all the way back in 1917.
Those corporations subsequently went International, and that’s whose money candidates for the Senate need to campaign.
Senate campaigns cost a minimum of 20 million dollars, and that’s the corruption in a nutshell.
Repealing the 17th Amendment would put the system back as originally designed, with US Senators chosen by their state legislatures.
The cost of those campaigns would be ZERO, plus no carpetbaggers like Hillary Clinton, who became the Senator from NY, even though she had never lived there and had absolutely no business taking that seat from more qualified NY politicians, except her husband was the president at the time and could force everyone to back off.
Repeal is the answer, but probably impossible to achieve, but ripping the system apart is never going to happen.
The only good Commie is a deceased Commie.
Wouldn’t that be Unconstitutional?
That’s all really don’t understand why communists, socialists or marxist. In general are even a lot to do much of anything , you would think they would be restrictions on that stuff too , especially a direct threat to this Constitutional Republic.
Maybe it’s time for an actual amendent. Is throwing off the shackles of King George III (singularly) too narrow an interpretation?
“So to eliminate the Senate, you have to eliminate the Constitution.”
.
So, apparently the commie progs are willing to give up their 14th Amendment Rights.
.
The U.S. Constitution’s 14th Amendment says a state can’t deprive any person of “life” without due process of law. “
And that due process comes from that very same evil `ol constitution.
.
> Repealing the 17th Amendment would put the system back as originally designed, with US Senators chosen by their state legislatures. <
Yep. The 17A came about because of two problems with the original method.
1. Perceived corruption in the state houses when choosing a senator. The 17A did not eliminate the corruption. It just moved it to another venue.
2. Deadlock (ties) in the state houses when choosing a senator. Then the state had no senator. Easy fix here. If a state house cannot agree on a choice in a reasonable amount of time, the governor picks the senator.
The DSA aims to do that? What about the multitudes of who aren’t DSA don’t want what they aim to do? Are we expected to sit back and just let them to what they aim to do? If we do that, we are one sorry-assed bunch.
No, they are not terrorists.
And have ANY of the MSM giants strongly opposed the DSA agenda? Not that I’m aware of. But “white Christian nationalists” are a threat to the very foundations of the country!!!
