X ^ | July 19 | MarkLynchSC

@MarkLynchSC

Rick Scott introduced a bill to END Social Security by 2028, leaving more than 75 million American seniors without the benefits they earned, and hurting everyone who has already paid into it. He calls it welfare.

In the Senate, I will fight to protect your benefits from career politicians like Rick Scott and Ralph Norman.

This is going to be a fascinating, short and bitter campaign in SC to fill Graham's seat.

Businessman Mark Lynch ran against Graham and secured nearly a third of the vote in the primary and he's running again.

Rep. Ralph Norman has also decided to run for it and Rep. Nancy Mace is considering it. Both lost the governor's race finishing in 3rd and 5th respectively.

They literally have a few days to organize and get their nominations in.

Mark Lynch is in a good position you'd think just re-activating his campaign. He believes it's his destiny and has been campaigning for over a year!

I hope he wins because he looks good to me.

In case you were wondering Scott is backing Norman so that’s why Lynch is posting about him.

Lynch believes the GOP should get behind him..

I wish I didn’t have to pay into SS because I’d rather invest it myself. I’d be way better off.

I’d take a fair lump sum distribution to be rid of it… whatever I put in + compounded returns of 14% ought to do it

If people could have invested in the stock market instead of the SS Ponzi scheme, all who did would be worth $millions today.

You and me both. No collection of SS at retirement age, AND no further payments.

I agree with that 100%. Unfortunately, I bet we both know, that politically it will never get done. Scott done touched the third rail of American politics. Look for the Dems to exploit this issue.

Buckley rule: the most conservative who can win.

My rule: Young enough to serve 2 terms so they don’t get stale. A pretty face helps. So does a victory or 2.

Marsha Blackburn was in the middle of her 2nd term but decided to run for gov. Not good. I’d vote against her. Make her stay.

It's welfare that the people didn't support, so now you are suggesting government theft of that money that has been paid ino it by citizens that never had a say in that momey being taken from them?

Let's examine you financial standing, shall we:

As of mid-2026, Rick Scott, the U.S. Senator from Florida, is consistently ranked as one of the wealthiest members of Congress.

Estimates of his net worth vary significantly depending on the source and the inclusion of assets held in blind trusts or by his spouse:

Quiver Quantitative estimates his net worth at approximately $507.9 million as of June 19, 2026.

In addition, U.S. Senators have a retirement plan, but it is not a "paid for life" full salary; it is a calculated pension based on years of service and final salary, capped at 80% of their final pay. Smells like wefare to me, especially for one who is halfway to being a billionaire.

Eligibility and Vesting Senators are covered by the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) (for those elected after 1984) or the legacy Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS). To qualify for any pension, a Senator must complete at least five years of creditable federal service. Payment eligibility begins at:

Age 62 with five years of service.
Age 50 with 20 years of service.
Any age with 25 years of service.

Also gives one the impression that you are a greedy little SIB, as well. Since you are a Senatr, you serve a term of 6 years, means of course, that you alreaeady meet the requirements to qualify for retirement. Thus, you know that your welfare will be collected.

Investopedia projects his 2026 net worth to be around $515.28 million.

Finbold reported a wider range in 2024 based on 2023 disclosures, estimating his assets between $271 million and $808 million, noting he has no recorded liabilities.

Scott's wealth primarily stems from his career in the healthcare industry, particularly his co-founding of Columbia/HCA, as well as extensive real estate investments and holdings managed through Richard L. Scott Investments.

Rick Scott's Net Worth 2026, & His Historical Financial Trajectory

Scott's reported net worth has fluctuated considerably over his political career, often influenced by campaign spending and market performance:

2010: Estimated at $219 million prior to his gubernatorial campaign, into which he poured roughly $73 million of personal funds.

2012: Dropped to approximately $84 million following his election victory and market changes.

2018: Federal filings revealed a much higher potential wealth when including his wife Ann's assets. While state filings listed roughly $232 million, combined family assets were estimated between $254 million and $510 million.

2025: Estimates ranged from $320 million to over $549 million depending on the tracker used.

Recent reports indicate volatility in his portfolio, with millions gained or lost in the stock market month-to-month. Unlike many politicians, Scott's salary ($174,000 annually) constitutes a negligible portion of his income, which is driven by dividends, capital gains, and business interests.

Scott utilizes a blind trust to manage his holdings, a practice he adopted to avoid conflicts of interest, though the trust is managed by a long-time business associate.

How about showing the people how you actually earn, what you no doubt consider as your paltry salary, by working hard for the people. Your introduction of this plan, only jelps to endure that Democrats might have a chance in the midterm elections.

Is that what you are really after ypou dumb person?

How about you just STFU, and help to make this country great again., because right now, your bill only seems to be focused on your concern about how you fare in this world.

There are many hard working people that never had the advantages you had, and in their senior years, you want to take away that little sum?

You made lots of welfare along the way as well, frtom the same people you now show little concren for. S.S. is killing this country, not from the hard working people that pay into it, but from your Democrat colleges who have seen fit to use it as a piggy back to secure votes for themselves, and their new constituents they are generating through the illegals they have not only allowed to crash the gates of this nation, but are now also putting them on S.S., as well as, every kind of welfare they have at their disposal, including aenabling them to steak from this natio,.

Start treating the Democrats as the real enemies of this nation that they actually are, along with their enabling cohorts in the press & the entertainment industry.

POTUS is talking about a similar setup for retirement with Americans self directing a portion of the SS money they are forced to contribute. The devil will be in the details. Possibly a reasonable solution if the % to be directed rises gradually to 100% as the SS ponzi scheme is unwound.

SS should be ended. And Medicare. And Medicaid. SS could be ended suddenly or it could be ended with a better alternative, namely the Chilean model. It can be done smoothly by keeping all over age 50 who choose, to stay with SS and Medicare. All others would be transferred to the new system that is private and invests the money. Chile did that under the sainted and excoriated Pinochet.

Result is that recipients receive about twice the lifetime benefits in relation to contributions as those under the old system which was quite like ours.

They also own their accounts which they can bequeathe to their children who thus have much larger stakes than just their own contributions and at retirement receive commensurately larger benefit. It cannot be replaced with government IOUs as our system does. There is NO money in the Social Security system, only IOUs. Contribution money is spent as fast as it is received.

It’s not so much that we need to end the con game that is SS. The issue is how to do it while minimizing harm. The people who have been paying into it for years should get their money back, plus interest and COLA.

However there should be no new enrollees. For them there should be a private, interest bearing version outside of government.

Thus, the big loser would be the federal government, denied what amounts to a doubling of the income tax they have skimmed off of SS for decades.

She’s a RINO when it comes down to it. I forgrt who was interviewing her recently, maybe Maria Bartiromo, but when asking about Jack Smith and him lying about using or tracking the 40+ congress peoples’ text and phone records, Marsha wasn’t mentioning anything about filing charges against the scumbag, only that people need to see who he is. No, people already know he was a slimy POS that went after Trump illegally, but people want to see this scumbag face justice.

Buckley rule: the most conservative who can win.

That stupid premise is a big contributor as to why we have the problems we do, and so many RINOs. But hey, with enough time, maybe the definition of insanity can be proven wrong.

Fine. Vote for Platner. I do believe Buckley was conservative enough to make a better living than the two of us.

**She’s a RINO when it comes down to it.**
Please be aware it takes time, money and effort to replace a sitting senator. Special elections will be called for and they are not free. Starting over from square one doesn’t help the party.

As for Jack Smith there are 99 other senators that can go after him. She’s not the difference maker.
