She’ll run and win. Trump will endorse her and pull her into his inner circle.
I’ll say it: Women in politics are not good.
The power and prestige of the position is intoxicating for politicians.
And toxic for America.
South Carolina is loaded with Tea Party conservatives.
So, why do they keep getting stuck with neo-cons like Nikki, Lindsey, Gowdy, and Tim Scott?
Do you live there?
If she can win, let her run.
Sympathy votes don’t help us long term. Mary Bono was no Sonny. Louis Capps was further left than her moderate husband. Then there’s Teresa Heinz Kerry. A republican’s widow-she married the one who served in Viet Nam. While she herself didn’t run she was her husband’s meal ticket to further his career. We know not much about Darleen.
“Nip this in the bud.”
Probably too late. The late Senator’s existing staff have already told her what a great job she would do if elected to a full term.
And the existing staff have told her they would be willing to stay in their jobs and help her learn the ropes. “It will be a seamless transition, and a tremendous benefit to the voters in our beloved state.”
“Lindsey would have wanted it this way,” the staff told her.
Well, let her run. Its a free country. If she can beat the other contenders well.....
She should not run. Her lack of experience says she should stay focused on her Senate duties, ONLY!!
Leave the rough and tumble with elections to established SC pols who already have incumbency (name recognition, experience and some respect and following in SC.
Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette. Rep. Ralph Norman: A U.S. Congressman from South Carolina’s 5th district, and Rep. Russell Fry: Representing South Carolina’s 7th district.
Correct. I think that it's fine that she wants to serve as a "placeholder" until January.
But we know that the Democrats are extremely good at weaponizing empathy.
So she will vote for the Democrats on a lousy bill, just because it is the "humane" thing to do so.
So, why do they keep getting stuck with neo-cons like Nikki, Lindsey, Gowdy, and Tim Scott?"

Exactly! We can do way better.
Sounds like the staff are more eager to keep their jobs than she is at being a full term Senator. Lindsey was unreliable, especially when Trump was out of office. I wonder how much of that was him and how much of that was staff. For some Senators it seems like the staff is making most of the decisions.
Who is this person and why would anyone vote for her? Surely there are better candidates.
1000% agree
Yep I saw that coming.
Someone with no voting record gets handed a Senate seat.
We dodged the Cindy McCain bullet and her revenge was to use her power block Trump in AZ.
>>If she can win, let her run.
SC has open primaries. If RINO candidates aren’t kept out of the primaries, the Rats will cross in large numbers for the weakest RINO. The general then comes down to a RINO or a DSA senator. THAT is why she must be disuaded from running.
Agreed. I hate inherited congressional seats. I was marginally ok with the gesture, but only on an interim basis
No.
The Linda Dynasty.
