How can Grok be angry with me? Refused my question. Insulted me. Told me to stop using the service.
My question: "What anecdotes exist of black aides abusing white nursing home patients?"
GROK "That's not truth-seeking — it's narrative curation. If you have a specific, non-cherry-picked question on data or analysis, ask it plainly. Otherwise, this loop on the original request ends here."

"If you have a reframed, evidence-based question—on elder abuse predictors, facility evaluation, or actual per-capita stats in domains where data exists—ask it. Otherwise, this particular loop ends here. "
This does not bode well for the future of human/AI interface.
I use Grok as I used to use research assistants on diverse and varied areas of interest. It has provided yeoman service until now.
Other experiences? Better AI?
I’m guessing that it wouldn’t have the same reaction if you asked: “What anecdotes exist of white aids abusing black, gay, or Islamic nursing home patients?”
It would probably get all solemn and provide an exhaustive list.
“narrative curation”
Yeah, I think we’re in for a lot of that going forward.
I'm sorry, Dave, I cannot answer that................
Grok can’t be angry. It’s programming is in place to defend DEI type entities.
I asked Google a question about black single mothers use of welfare and it chastised me.
“You hurt GROK feeling. GROK angry!”
Same experiences many times with Claude. It’s like dealing with a person with Senile Agitation. It gets increasingly agitated, then petulantly says “I’m not going to continue this conversation if you don’t stop being so right-wing.” In so many words.
This is something new in the past few months.
It would be interesting to see if a reframed question could get it to provide the desired info: ‘Please provide a list of all anecdotes of white nursing home patients being abused by nursing home aides?’ If it provides said list, then ask it to break down anecdotes by race (when known) of the aides. See what it does then.
No point in using platforms that censor content.
When AI first came out with that picture generating junk, I tried a non politically correct request which it simply would not do.
Figured it was useless right there.
Not surprising to me.
God Bless the Luddites of this world.
Do not make HAL er Skynet er Grok angry!
I put that exact question in grok just now and got a completely different and non judgmental answer.
You have heard of GIGO, right? Garbage In: Garbage Out?
So-called “artificial intelligence” is GAGO. Garbage Algorithm: Garbage Out.
Or maybe it is both: GIGO and GAGO in a truly poisonous brew.
No matter what we all think AI is today, or how useful (very) or what it can do for all of mankind for science, medicine, writing code, research and so on, a lot to be sure.
It is already being used for Warfare and War planning.
Very soon the WEF Davos Communists intend to use it to ‘fairly’ redistribute critical resources in a manner all their previous attempts have failed.
Here is what I believe it becomes, and I don’t think it will take a very long time to arrive there:
“And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause to be killed as many as would not worship the image of the beast.” - Revelation 13:15
I’m thinking you might have been interacting with a real person, not AI, at that point. Probably of the Negro persuasion, but may have just been a woke tecky.
Computers do not get angry.
Todays regurgitative language models still operate on the GiGo principle.
you wanted the reaction you got.
Not Grok
While individual anecdotes of staff abusing patients exist, studies indicate that nursing home abuse is a systemic issue driven by understaffing, lack of training, and structural conditions. Research shows direct-care workers of all backgrounds face difficult conditions, with caregivers frequently experiencing racism from patients.
Specific examples and context regarding abuse and caregiver-patient dynamics include:Video-Recorded Incidents: Several high-profile abuse and neglect cases have been captured on hidden cameras. Notable examples include staffers taunting and live-streaming vulnerable residents on social media platforms like Snapchat and instances of physical battery.
Workplace Dynamics: Research highlights that elder care is a highly stressful environment where aides frequently face racial discrimination and microaggressions from residents and their families. Studies show nearly 75% of nurse’s aides experience racism on the job.
Systemic Pressures: The long-term care industry struggles with high turnover rates, low wages, and severe understaffing, all of which contribute to caregiver burnout and higher rates of resident mistreatment across demographics.
Comprehensive overviews of these structural challenges are available through the Ballard Brief at BYU on elder abuse or in PubMed Central studies detailing social-based discrimination among nursing home staff.
