The splash page came up.
And then in dawned on me:
Free Republic is 30 years old this year!
23 for me.. lost that account in 2007 (or 2008, can’t remember.)

I turned 30 for the second time a few years back.
Ha, ha! I've been here 24 years and sometimes still feel like a noob.
I have been here since September 9th of 2000. Close to 26 years! The only place on the internet that I trust for news!
Outstanding...proud to say i’ve been around almost 25 of those 30 years!!!
Don’t know what i would do without FR!!!
My first FR post was in 2004, the historical thread was about how Mister Dan Rather forged military docs (wrong font and wrong paper size) in order to FRAME George W Bush in a fake USAF Reserve scandal, and just before the 04 elections.
Some amazing posts on the thread, mine was forgettable, however the true power of FR was now there for all to see.

Worst thread, the 9/11 thread reporting the initial crash into the North Tower, that day just kept getting worse.
Best thread, the War of the Worlds 1938 radio “breaking gas explosions on Mars” thread from Halloween 2001. Complete with mock posts from FR users from 1938 (OldDealer, Rhett Butler’s Butler, etc). I needed a laugh that year.
