A Kansas couple allegedly left their six children, including two infants, in a hot car while they dined at a fast food chain on one of the most scorching days of the year, according to reports and authorities.
Temperatures climbed near the triple digits in the city on Wednesday, with a heat index of over 100 degrees.
Emergency responders evaluated the children on the scene. It’s unclear if any of them suffered heat-related illnesses. The kids were later brought into protective custody, the outlet reported.
Chad Scoville from the Salina Fire Department warned that children are more vulnerable to the heat than adults, especially inside vehicles where temperatures can quickly become dangerous.
“A child’s body temperature rises three to five times faster than adults’,” Scoville told KWCH. “They just do not have the same regulating capabilities that an adult does.”
“Temperatures can reach deadly levels inside cars within minutes,” Scoville said. “Anything can happen at any time, even if you think you’re going to be minutes — that could turn into an hour. We simply do not want to leave unattended children or pets in unattended vehicles. Period.”
Leaving a window cracked open in a car is not enough to protect kids, according to the CDC.
Temperatures inside a car can rise almost 20 degrees Fahrenheit within the first 10 minutes, even with a window left open.
Children who are left unattended in parked cars are at the greatest risk for heat stroke and possibly death, the agency said.

I like how Andre, the guitarist/bassist, found an outdoor spot with same background to film himself, it may be in exactly the same spot.
The comments on the video are priceless:

MY FIRST THOUGHT: WHERE IS THEIR MOONSHINE OPERATION?
Was thinking the same thing.
Apparently, taking care of your children is NOT a parental obligation. Once you understand and embrace that, it all makes sense. Children need to be taught that as well.
"No one owes you anything, including your own parents. I know you're only five years old and that's devastating to hear, but don't waste your life waiting for them to change."
Children also need to be taught the Killhouse Rules and that it might apply to their own family.
Killhouse Rules:
1. Nobody is coming to save you.
2. Everything is your responsibility.
3. Save who needs to be saved.
4. Kill who needs to be killed.
5. Always be working.
The other day I was coming out of Walmart and heard barking, on a very hot day. I followed the barking and found a dog in a car. The windows were down about two inches. I called the police. Before they got there an old man came out and it was then that I noticed the handicapped tag. He limped over to the car and I chewed him up one side and down the other. He was very sorry and had left the dog with water and a “cooling pad” whatever that is.
Disagree.
These two scum buckets ought to never get their kids back after their “hopefully” long stint in prison.
White trash fatigue.
Understood. But hundreds of millions of people agree, and governments as well.
Morality is reserved for those willing and able to integrate it.
Attempted murder.
Hmmm
I recall similar, except we had a few instances of bees coming in the car and startling us and passers by helping out :)
Unfortunately, you are correct so one problem goes on and on for avoidance of another. I can dream can’t I?
“MY FIRST THOUGHT: WHERE IS THEIR MOONSHINE OPERATION?”
You are a bit behind the times.
The question is: where is their meth lab hidden?
Some reason feral comes to mind.
Poor children hope they get a better place to live.
The oldest in the car was 13… you really trying to tell me (unless that child has mental issues) that they wouldn’t open windows or doors?
I get the younger kids may not but with a 13 and 7 and other year old kids aren’t going to open doors and windows if they are hot?!?
