A Texas police department says it plans to 'look into' a viral video showing one of its officers warning a Christian street preaching group they could be cited for simply saying something offensive to others.
The encounter occurred June 27 at Trinity Pride Fest in Fort Worth, where police were caught on video threatening to arrest members of a street preaching team led by evangelist Rich Penkoski. A Fort Worth PD spokesman on Monday provided The Christian Post with the following statement: 'The Fort Worth Police Department is committed to protecting the constitutional rights of all individuals, including the right to free speech and peaceful assembly, while also ensuring public safety and enforcing applicable laws and ordinances.
'We are aware of a video and allegations circulating [on] social media. We will need some time to look into this and will provide additional information once our review is complete.'
This is enforcing public blasphemy laws, making it a crime to offend the LGBTQ+ community with biblical truth.
Sounds like an overly zealous cop who thinks her badge and gun means that she gets to determine how our constitutional rights are practiced.
We can infer this because it doesn't appear that this is the first time this woman has pulled a stunt like this, according to The Christian Post.

well we do have first amendment rights, and laws against discrimination based on sex, religion race etc- but we’ll see how long these laws protect the nation-
A cop arrested a street preacher at another gay pride event, under similar circumstances- cop claiming that the gay folks felt threatened- but it got thrown out- not sure if the preacher ever was able to sue or not
And yet its OK for gay activists like these "Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence" to go out of their way to be deliberately offensive and dress up as nuns or in other religious garb and protest in churches. Or for Don Lemon and a mob to disrupt a church service to protest. That's all free speech and "celebrated." But if you stand to the side and preach, you can get arrested by a lesbian cop for saying something offensive to the gay pride attendees.
I find just about everything James Talarico (Dem candidate for senate in Texas) says offensive. I do not advocate for his arrest because I find him offensive. It is his constitutional right to spew his insane politics in public.
At least she didn’t shoot someone.

Shame on that city’s attorney for not doing a better job teaching what “disorderly conduct” means. This cop is trying to shoehorn the free speech in to “tends to incite an immediate breach of the peace”, which applies only to “abusive, indecent, profane, or vulgar language” under Penal Code Section 42.01(a)(1).
