England and Mexico played out one of the greatest games in World Cup history before a Pom ended up in hospital in bizarre circumstances.
Football fans have witnessed two of the best round of 16 matches they could have imagined on Monday.
First up a stunning result turned the World Cup on its head as Erling Haaland led Norway to a historic 2-1 triumph over Brazil.

It was a game that had it all, from goals to a send-off, bench melees and even a bizarre injury to England star Jordan Henderson following the celebrations.
Amidst all the delight of the England players and fans, midfielder Jordan Henderson suffered a nasty injury in bizarre fashion.
The substitute, who was yellow-carded despite not playing a minute, joined his teammates as they were serenaded by England fans singing Oasis once again after winning a World Cup classic against Mexico.
But as the celebrations died down and Henderson returned to the pitch, he tripped and fell over the advertising hoardings.
The former Liverpool captain appeared to land awkwardly on his wrist and he was whisked away on a stretcher before being taken to hospital.

I remember watching a USA vs Mexico match on TV played at the L.A. Coliseum in 1998. Seemingly the entire crowd was rooting for Mexico. Our national anthem was booed, and urine bags and batteries were tossed at our players.

that’s not quite right. all of the muslim countries have muslim players. but the not white brit players looked more african than muslim.
Last time I checked... Soccer players don’t use their wrist to kick the ball with.... The dude will be fine. He’s a bit of turd though... Managing to get yellow carded when he wasn’t even on the pitch.
I remember a NFL game where Drew Bledsoe got a foul called on him and he wasn’t even on the field!. Apparently his foot was in the ref’s white lane................

In the old days Mexicans at sporting contests would piss in beer cups and launch them every which way. The result was chaos and fistfights galore.
England is good but Mexico choked this one away. Both before and after the red card.

To call these teams “national teams” is a joke.
The French starting team is all black except for one Algerian.
It’s more like foreign legion teams, or teams of mercenaries. They look nothing like the country’s population, nor do the names have any connection to the nation’s language.
Heck, even Switzerland has 3 or 4 blacks in its starting lineup, where there’s hardly any blacks in Switzerland.
