After months of speculation and predictions, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding day is here.
The couple is expected to welcome around 1,000 guests at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Friday to celebrate their marriage, according to law enforcement sources familiar with the security planning. Festivities kicked off with a rehearsal dinner Thursday night, also at MSG, with about 100 family and friends on the guest list.
The couple's big day will include the typical wedding rundown of a cocktail hour, ceremony and then reception, with the celebration expected to stretch into the early hours, the sources told CBS News. But that may be the only thing typical about this star-studded event, which was planned under the tightest secrecy.
Private security will be in place at the famous venue, and the New York City Police Department is expected to handle any influx of fans and paparazzi that show up. Streets directly around Madison Square Garden will be closed.
Guests should begin arriving around 3:30 p.m. via a special VIP area covered by a tent, the sources said, with the ceremony set for 5:30 p.m. and the party expected to go till 2 a.m.
The event will feature musical entertainment and crews were building a massive set inside the arena for the occasion.
"This is going to be an absolute, spectacular blowout," People magazine editor-in-chief Charlotte Triggs told "CBS Mornings." "According to a source, it doesn't look at all the same inside. They've completely transformed it."
So far, details from inside the venue have been hard to come by. But reporters have been watching for days as a parade of 18-wheelers delivered and unloaded supplies, mostly under wraps.
It's safe to assume the famed basketball arena and concert venue will be decked out for a one-of-a-kind celebration,

I didn’t get an invite. Perhaps it got lost in the mail.
To be honest, I’m not a fan of Swift. And I’m not sure who Kelce is. But I figure the food at the reception would be incredible. So yes, I’m disappointed.

Given that this seems to be less a wedding than a spectacle, and given the reasons for that, I seriously doubt all this publicity, extravagance, and spending will result on a long and happy marriage.
Ya know, in 1939 there was a Nazi rally at MSG, so somehow there must be a connection between that event and today’s wedding. That’s what the media asswipes were implying when DJT held a rally at MSG in September 2024.
I don’t hate her because she’s rich. In fact, I don’t hate her at all.
Swift is a liberal (boo).
But she also is very kind and generous to the people who work for her. Contrast that with celebrities like Ellen DeGeneres who terrorized their staff.
I wish Swift well. And perhaps with age will come a bit of political wisdom.
These two are too full of themselves. Turning a wedding into a public spectacle. I hope the best for them, but this really might say something about the real nature of the relationship here.

You would think that being performers and constantly dealing with the masses, something like a Wedding would want to be private... Intimate... but apparently not. cant even imagine the need for that amount of attention.
It's good that they're having a party while the Mayor is trying to get everyone to turn off AC. So far, we live in a Capitalist country but that may change soon.

When she was in Vegas for her residency during the Eras tour I wound up sitting next to a guy at the main bar in South Point playing Keno. Nice guy so we chatted a little. He was a truck driver for Taylor Swift. Drove her equipment and had been with her a very long time. He said she takes very good care of her employees and actually made it a point to know them all. Then said.....oops there’s my Uber, gotta go. lol
The divorce will be even bigger!
After Travis Kelce’s football career is over and he’s had enough of being known as “Mr. Taylor Swift.”
She’s probably working on the breakup/divorce songs already
