Went and saw Supergirl with my comic loving teenager. Don’t know why other than the actresses comments in an interview this movie is being dissed around here. Nothing political. Comic loving son said character was pretty accurate. Go see it. Even pluggedin online said it was fine.
We should support the efforts toward normality. Last year’s Superman was really good and sort of old school hero. Same with this movie.
Nothing woke that I could find in it.

I’m glad you expressed your take on it.
I try to keep an open mind about some things, especially when it comes to movies. I don’t want to get too paranoid or too picky all the time. When all is said and done, it’s Make Believe. It’s a mere distraction from hard news.
What was it that singer Robert Plant said;
“Does Anybody Remember Laughter?”
He got heavily teased at how cheesy that line sounds, but there is a place for innocence, even today.
And he saves one woman in a car...and a squirrel. Ridiculous.
Zathras agrees with EnderWiggin
That's a really good idea. Would probably make $2 billion.
I’d rather see Krypto saving the Justice League, LOL.
IMO, Sidney Sweeney is literally and figuratively overexposed.
Compare Sidney’s career model to that of Elvis Presley’s.
I know they are quite different, one a singer, the other an actress. In Elvis early years, his manager
Colonel Tom Parker, was very careful to keep Elvis’ availability at a very low setting. The idea was to always leave the audiences wanting more, never giving them everything in a predictable way. Keeping the appearances of his Client seeming like an exclusive and fantastic event.
Accurate only to the Tom King slop that this movie is based on. The Supergirl character of many decades is nothing like the version in the movie.
Nah. We need to see more of her in shows and movies.
Still one of my favorite albums ever. Thanks for the reminder.
Cheers!

Gets into a nasty argument with Lois Lane, has a temper tantrum, and then Lois Lane effectively wins the argument.
Gets beaten soundly and repeatedly by his arch enemy, Lex Luthor. He's a weak version of Superman.
Perry White is black.

To be fair, Black Perry White did a pretty good job, but the character was nevertheless race swapped.
White male Superhero is tasked by his "Master race" Parents (read that as NAZI) with creating a super harem where he rapes women and denies them the right to control their own body. "Patriarchy" you know.
Superman is mocked and has things thrown at him by crowds. Very degrading.
Gets captured by his arch enemy.
He ends up having to be rescued by super genius and extremely brave Black Guy (Mr. Terrific) who figures everything out takes all the right actions and saves the day!
Supergirl calls him a "bitch."
I think there was more I saw at the time, but those are a few points.
bttt
No thanks. I am boycotting it because I don’t want to support the empty headed actress with the big mouth who plays Supergirl.
She looks like the Feral Child in Mad Max, the Road Warrior."
She's also short and obnoxious. Not at all the character of Supergirl I remember reading in the comics.
You would think that they would, but since they keep making "woke" garbage, it appears sending "the message" is more important to them than making money.
Who was that Hollywood studio guy that said "If you are making a movie, make a movie. If you want to send a message, use Western Union." ?

Uberman: I am.. Uberman! I have superhuman powers, and Ifight for untruth, injustice, and the Nazi way! And I have X-ray vision!
Lois Laneoff: X-ray vision? Can you see through my clothes?
Uberman: Ya! And through his, too. [ points at Jimmy Olstein ] He’s a Jew!
Jimmy Olstein: No! No, it’s not true! My parents were just very advanced in hygiene, that’s all..!
Hitler: Silence! Guard, take this Jew away!
Uberman: No need! I’ll drop him off at the camp on my vay to the Eastern front!
Nerdrotic and Critical Drinker ate the Siskel and Ebert of our time.
That, and also not really pretty enough. But yeah, I don't recall ever reading a comic that featured a short Supergirl. She should be at least average height if not outright tall.
Gal Gadot had the right figure to be Wonder Woman and that's a huge reason why that movie was a success.
The right size, the right beauty, and the right level of "exotic" that fits with the Amazon theme. Also, the first movie had a decent non-political script, while the second was just anti-Trump garbage.
I saw this movie while sailing the high seas. I will say that, other than the usual girlboss garbage, it isn’t particularly woke. But at the same time, it’s a crappy movie in its own right. It’s boring and silly, even when compared to all the other boring and silly superhero movies lately. There’s no real story to it, and the main protagonist (Supergirl) is unlikeable and unattractive.
I feel like the liberal media are trashing the movie because it wasn’t gay enough.
