We need a bench clearing brawl to liven this thing up.

Should be at least 2-0 with the way we’ve dominated. That’s what worries me, too many squandered chances in the first half.

OK, that’s funny. 😄

I sang the national anthem at Houston Astros games a few times a season back when they played in the Astrodome. One of the things they looked for on the audition tapes was how long you took to sing it. They had a hard and fast rule that it must be under 120 seconds because nobody wants the pitcher’s arm stiffening up. I sang it in well under 120 seconds.

This have been a lot more fun to watch then I thought it would be.

So I yelled “Goooooaaallll” when the US scored (both times even though only one counted). I wonder if that Mexican announcer guy is still alive that was the original “Gooooaaallll” person.

It already is. Ratings for MLS and English Premier League continue to rise, MLS stadiums full.

It’s not all about just lots of goals…which makes each goal more special.

I Love soccer. It’s far superior to the boring NFL, NBA, WNBA and MLB.

It’s ironic how the same people who complain about soccer’s lack of scoring will gladly watch baseball, where absolutely NOTHING happens.

So little scoring. Soccer will never become a popular sport.

The most popular sport in the world will never become popular in the U.S.?

Freepers are trending old, but many of us will live to see soccer overtake hockey as the #4 men's sport, after football, basketball and baseball.

The U.S. enjoys plenty of success in women's soccer, where it has been the top program in the world for decades now. The problem in U.S. men's soccer is that the money and fan interest is so much greater in our Big Three that most of the top male athletes get pulled away from soccer -- which still continues to grow, however, as a great entry sport for kids. The NFL, NBA and MLB have so degraded their games (always due to the pursuit of the almightly tv dollar) that they are, to me, increasingly unwatchable. An NFL game is now less than 10 minutes of actual game time surrounded by a three hour commercialfest.

One of the reasons I've grown to like soccer is that the players actually go out and play continuously without the endless commercial breaks. If tv ever got its hooks into soccer the way it has the big three, there would be a commercial break on every throw in.

Ok, now THAT is a REAL experience.

I have questions….if you don’t mind…

1. Did you get to do a sound check the day of the game, or did you just walk up and sing?

2. Was it pre-recorded and you sang into a dead mic, or was it truly live?

3. I’m sure you sang it well. But to what extend were you asked back because of your professionalism and NOT being a diva?

4. Have you sung elsewhere? Are you on Bandcamp?

Thank you. That is quite an achievement. Congratulations.

I agree. The ones that do the vocal gymnastics are the worst.

They need a new scoring system . They could award 2 points when a goal is made from a certain distance or for a header for example .

We’re screwed. Even if we win tonight, we won’t beat Belgium without Balogun.
